I'm not going to describe the facilities - their website and the other reviewers have done an excellent job. I'll attempt a much harder job; I'll try and describe who I think will be happy staying here, as I have done (and been!) for the last week.
If there's one word that describes Chalet Gueret it's 'grown-up'. I don't mean children won't like it; it's ideal for families with children below 'clubbing' age. But if you're looking for somewhere to crash between club and piste Chalet Gueret will be wasted on you. It is far too civilised (and so are Michael and Katie who look after you). If, on the other hand, you are looking for a chalet within 5 minutes drive of Morzine centre which is in a stunning and quiet location with total post-piste comfort and fabulous food then treat yourselves.

Wow! What a fabulous chalet. Having only ever stayed before in the buy off the shelf type chalets with their paper thin walls, ubiquitous Ikea-style furnishings and limited supplies of hot water, Chalet Gueret was a complete revelation. This is the real deal how a chalet ought to be: traditional in look and feel yet discreetly modern; spacious yet cosy; exquisitely furnished (each room having its own distinct style and character) yet extremely comfortable. I stayed here once in the summer and was bowled over by the beauty of the chalet and its alpine surroundings. Swimming in the outdoor pool was a particularly memorable experience. Doing front crawl means you're treated to views of the luscious, green mountainside complete with herd of dairy cows with clanging bells on one side when you breathe; and the fabulous mountain range and valley below on the other. If youre the active type, theres plenty to do within striking distance tennis, white water rafting, mountain biking and horse riding to name just some. Just lazing on a sun lounger by the pool reading a book or taking in the spectacular scenery is one of the many less tiring options. For a real treat that will spoil even the most discerning of holiday makers, I couldnt recommend Chalet Gueret enough.
We have stayed at Chalet Gueret three times, always in the summer. The chalet is very spacious and comfortable in a peaceful location. Outside there are plenty of different areas to relax in with a book, or if you feel energetic the swimming pool and hot tub are very inviting with great mountain views. As we are neither bikers nor hikers some of the more local pursuits were of limited interest to us, so we found it an advantage that once we had visited spots like the lake at Montriond and Les Lindarets(the goat village) we were within easy driving distance of interesting places like Annecy, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Evian and the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire.
I have stayed at Chalet Gueret five times now, three times during the skiing season and twice in the summer. This chalet offers, in my view, the utmost in hospitality and comfort. Michael and Katie do a marvellous job of running the chalet, providing useful local knowledge and wonderful home cooked meals after a hard day's skiing. The chalet itself is beautiful and provides very comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. The sitting room/dining room area has very comfortable sofas and a welcoming open log fire with lovely views from the many windows and balcony. The swimming pool area is wonderful in the summer and so is the hot tub at any time of the year. For those who are not content with just relaxing in the evening there are plenty of board games available and table tennis for the more energetic. The chalet is located in an area with access to a wealth of ski slopes, not to mention plenty of other activities for the summer.
I have stayed at this wonderful Chalet for a 4 day skiing holiday early in 2007.Michael and Katie are the most wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts and Katie's cooking is something else! The decor is the Chalet is stunning as is the roaring log fire which Michael loves to prepare. The nearby slopes are a gateway to some of the best skiing in Europe and this Chalet is a great place to stay especially if you are part of a large group.

my wife and I bought a 200 year old chalet in the French Alps near Morzine in 1997 as a second home for winter skiing and for the summer. Unfortunately the same year it burnt down (an electrical fault)We loved the area and the village so much that we decided to rebuild but in the same style. It is available to rent out on a catered basis for winter and summer (it has an outdoor swimming pool). You'll just love Michael and Katie who look after the guests. Please have a look at the website www.chaletgueret.com - and we'd love it if guests who have stayed there over the years and made such wonderful comments in the guest book would post a review . We'd be happy to have your opinions, especially suggestions on how to make the guest experience even better!
