This tool is so useful, I don't know how I managed without it. It's just so simple to pop in the postcode of the place you're looking for, and hey presto, there it is. Saves a frantic panic before any social event, trying desperately to find the place on the map five minutes before heading off. You're even provided with a journey planner, which admittedly doesn't always work as well as perhaps it could, but 90% of the time works well enough. So easy any fool could do it.
Fantastic idea! When i'm trying to find the easiest way to get somewhere, or i just generally want to find out where somewhere is its a quick and easy way of doing it!
Google maps is another thing that makes google even better.
Even HelpHound are using google maps! When typing a postcode, it is so instant and it's very detailed in its results - giving 2 different views; satelite, terrain and map.
Also when typing a postcode, does it complete the rest of the address.
I have found myself searching on google maps alot more than others like multimap as google maps update alot more often.

I'm really bad at reading maps and so is my mum. I think google maps is a great alternative to using the atlas, its coloured, accurate and easy to see. I think its the best way to find places and you can always print something off if you need to keep it handy.
Google maps is awesome for finding places, plotting routes or even just searching places for fun anywhere in the world!. A very user friendly interface makes moving around the map very easy and you can switch between viewing the road map, satellite image, and terrain map of an area at the click of a button (top left hand corner). The quality of the maps are excellent, they load quickly and have a brilliant area coverage around the world that is set to improve over time. A brilliant tool.
A great new addition to the google enterprise, you can zoom from country level to road level, it really is superb, and easy to find places to by typing in post codes for example. Technology is exceptionally good these days, and things like google maps are the reasons why. If you dont know where somewhere is- google map it.
Google maps is a great site for finding road maps of anywhere on earth. I find the interface very each to navigate as you can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom in and the maps seem to load very quickly. Satellite and terrain images are also available and the coverage of the satellite maps is superb as I can even get a clear aerial of my own village.
I love google maps!! The satellite images are great you feel like you are getting such a birds eye view of a place when you use this function - you can be so nosey and check out your neighbours gardens (even if slightly blurred) I love checking out where I am going on these maps - fantastic site!
The hybrid function is also very clever as you get the road names as well as the satellite image.

Google is an amazing site you can search for anything and you get really good results. If its a name or an object you can find a site on anything. I especially find it useful for research for academic work and if your bored.
Google map is a fantastic thing to have if you are travelling somewhere that you dont know well. Not only do they give you an accurate drawing of the area but they also outline all of the different travel routes that you can use, and how long each one will take you. I never go anywhere without checking it out on Google Map first.
At uni me and my friends used google maps to have a look at where eachother lived which was always a bit of a laugh. Obviously its real aim is to plan routes and figure out distances between things, but I still like just going on random google maps trips around britain.
Good clear maps which are very easy to find just by typing in a postcode or a location, also has overhead photos. You can get directions from one place to another which are very accurate.
These things are awesome! You just need to type in the name of a street or area you want to view, and it comes up. The mapping is clear and accurate, and there is the option of getting a satelite image of the area. Makes finding your way round unfamiliar areas really easy, and is a great idea.
This is a very good and efficient service of finding your way around somewhere you do not know. This is a prominent feature on the iphone and the apple macs and is a very successful map search engine
Google maps is MUCH easier to use that other maps on the internet and you almost always get one appear when you type something into google. They're easy to use with easy zoom in/zoom out buttons and you can go from county to county with ease. A*!
google maps is possibly the most useful tool on the internet. you can enter an address, a post code or simply click and point to any area in the world and find directions to another place. The best bit is its free!
This is a pretty cool service, a route finder simillar to the AA one. All you do is type in a street or area code and you get you map and directions to that place. I always use it to get a map to a mates house that I hadnt been to before. I find this service pretty easy and intuitive to use.
Google map is a very good website because it is easy to navigate around and the instructions are easy enough to understand. In addition, if you were looking for specific venues on the map, google map always provide you with more choices, eg, hotels, restaurant etc.
My first port of call for getting directions around the UK. My heart used to belong to Multimap however Google Maps have now won me over, and I am a true convert to their simple, intuitive design. Brilliant. Sorry Multimap.
So simple and easy to use, this service is really great. You can use it through the normal google site and you dont even need the post code is you dont have it, just a few lines of the address should do it. Really easy to follow instructions to get to where you're going. Great service.
if you are in a quandry as to where somewhere is then just simply wack up google maps and it will definately sort you out. The most fantastic thing of all is that now you can also get google maps on your phone. A thoroughly brilliant resource.
Google Maps is probably the best map system online. It is fast and almost always finds the location you want it to. This web-site is also known to give you details about the address, give your satellite coverage and plot directions for you. I use this web-site on a regular basis and I would not consider changing.
Google Maps is great. Whenever you are going somewhere you can just type in the postcode or town and it will show you quickly and clearly how to get there with postcodes and directions and all. What a lifesaver!
This resource has saved me from many a pointless journey! I have been able to plan journeys weeks in advance with out having to purchase single maps. The website is easy to use. I find the directions that it gives you exceptionally accurate and helpful.
Lifesaver.
The maps are clear and detailed, and pretty much cover the world. Not only that, you can calculate distances between places and get driving directions from place to place! You can also set your home or office as a default location so that whenever you enter a new address, Google Maps calculates the directions and distance immediately without you having to key a second address in. Super convenient and easy to use.

The best thing about Google maps is that you can find where your house is - on the detailed satellite maps - and zoom in - of course when the novelty of this has worn off for you and all of your friends, you can check the exact adresses of places that you want to go!
My first resource for finding the addresses of new businesses i'm adding to helphound. And also fun for checking out satellite photos of places you live/know/wish you could go etc. So very annoying that they still don't have hi res satellite photos of massive parts of the UK (including where i live!) though. But there are a number of different uses for google maps including getting driving directions, finding businesses and even viewing peoples photos that they've taken in particular locations. Very useful site, but please send one of them there satellites over perth soon and take some good old photos just for me. Please?
really fun for pointing out where your house is to work mates! you basically type in a postcode and up pops an aerial view of whatever section of the world you want, i have been on google map for both england and america, im not sure if it does other countries to, the only thing to be careful of is that a number of the images seem to have been taken a few years ago and the landscape may have changed, but only slightly and this isnt a major problem
Quite simply a brilliant resource. Its everything you need in a map rolled into one. You can pinpoint an exact location or plan a route and also the map can change from just a simple road map to a satalite picture of the area which is amazing. Highly Recommended!!!!
Google maps is an excellent resource. The directions they provide are really good and the maps are really clear with good detail so its easy to find what you are looking for. You can get maps from pretty much the whole world and you can also view satellite photos which are extra helpful for finding where you are going (and always fun to find your house) and you can also view terrain. You can also look for businesses such as hotels in edinburgh and they will show you on one map where they are (for use before you come on helphound to find out if they are any decent of course).
An overwhelmingly accurate map and directions service, provided by Google. You can get routes, directions, journey times and distances. You can also choose to view in satellite view, giving you a more realistic impression. Very useful, as you can also find businesses etc. on it.
Google Maps has to have a review of it's own. It's - quite simply - a location searching engine instead of an internet one. Need to find how to get to that elusive friend's place? No idea where you can find this tiny street where you're supposed to be? You just type in the name of the business (or, if it doesn't come up, just do a bit of googling and you can find the address of the place), and there you have it. I have used this a lot and it has never failed me. Even Helphound uses it. Can you mistrust Helphound's judgement? Possibly not.
