I HATE THIS PLACE!
The last-minute buying of trainers at the end of school holidays couldn't be any worse. The assistants do not/can not assist. Most of them have no interest in Sport or they're job at all. If you do manage to find one that can actually be bothered to take his hands out of his tracksuit bottoms and come over to talk to you, it soon becomes apparent that he has no idea what's going on at all. The only reason why I still go here (3 times a year MAX!), is because they do have a wide, if badly laid out, range of trainers that aren't (too) expensive.

A nice place to buy chavvy clothes if you so wish. Here you will find all the standard "sports" makes; Adidas, Reebok, Le Coq Sportif etc etcOften has groups of youths hanging around outside, not quite sure why that is.Good place to get stuff if you actually do sports also..just don't expect friendly staff.

JJB Sports has a good range of sports clothing and equipment. Unfortunately the service is not particularly great and you may be waiting a long time to be seen. This aside, the prices are reasonable abd there are frequent discounts throughout the shop.

A large store with a good range, There do not appear to be many floor staff around willing to help, with frequent experiences of looking for staff to get clothes down that are placed too high to reach, let me into changing roomds, or find the correct size trainers

How do stores like JJB get away with it,. Not NO service, NEGATIVE service. The staff ignore you unless you rugby-tackle them (they wouldn't know a rugby tackle from fishing tackle) then they KNOW NOTHING. The checkout staff are no better - they can make a queue of 1 last 15 minutes! Come on JJB - get some staff with an IQ of 5 more than your typical customer - it's not going to break the bank. I'm not going back until I see some positive reviews here.

I can honestly say I used to dread going in here to get trainers at the end of the summer and won't go there any longer. Never anybody to help and always a long wait (even not at the end of summer) and no guidance or advice. Suggest more better- trained staff with some interest in sport. Also very badly laid out shop with no obvious areas for swimming, cricket, golf.

Disregarding my own advice and partly because this JJB Sports does not involve having to go into the centre of Exeter, my son and I went to get cricket trousers and shirt yesterday (12th April) and my dislike of the place came flooding back when unable to find a shirt in his size I approached an assistant for help. He looked at me blankly (when having gone through the rails again to see whether I had incompetently missed a shirt) I suggested that there might be more stock in the store room. The answer was a flat 'no' and a wave of the hand to search the men's section. JJB Sports is so packed with clothes that it's very difficult to identlfy different areas and when I asked again where that might be, there was just another wave in the general direction and no further offer of help. I don't know why it makes me so angry but I wish I had stuck to my guns and not gone there. Is it so difficult to find competent, friendly staff?

This is one of the 2 JJB stores in Exeter. It has a good good range of stock, sport - leisure wear. The first time I went in I purchased some items for the gym, very reasonable prices & good choice of trainers. I also feel the times i've been there it has been difficult to get assistance.

This store may seem impressive, as you drive up to it from the town, but my god the service is anything but good! When i needed to get to the changing rooms i had to find a shop assistant, but most of them were to busy to chatting to friends which found intimidating. in the end i walked out with a horrid taste in my mouth.
