There is a lot of history in this place, I went with my husband and was very impressed at how they had set out everything here, the ride was interesting and I had chance to take many pictures, although I don't actually know where these are. The smell was just how we expected a Viking village to smell and we were both very interested at looking at how the Vikings used to live.

Something a little different maybe but I really have enjoyed my visits to Jorvik before. I love the recreation of what things would have been like and the ride really was the highlight for me, I just love things like that! The place even had the apparent aroma of cooking and things in Viking times and the sound affects just transport you back to another time! The only downside to visiting here is the admission price, as if you want to see everything it really can mount up when there is a family of you, but its a nice treat anyway. If you can then visit when the schools are not on holiday, as you could be waiting for quite some time in the school holidays to get in.

THis place is a great place to come for a viking experience! I like it that the staff have to dress up in viking clothes, they are quite passionate about what they do and are always enthusiastic. You can go around and see and hear and smell what it used to be like in viking times and learn about the history of how the vikings came to york.

The main memory that sticks with me about the Jorvik Centre is the amazing smell they have created! The best part of it is the sort of sit down ride you go on, which takes you around the reconstruction of a viking village. It's a great place to visit if you are in York and quite fun and educational.

The JORVIK Viking Centre is a very popular attraction in York and is remarkably informative. It is suitable for the budding historian, the tourist and even a family with small children. The ride inside takes you through the history of York and it puts life in perspective. I would recommend this attraction, although do be prepared to queue up for a long time (and you may be shocked by the high ticket prices).

Definitely one of my favourite days out... Took me right back to my childhood and reminded me of being on a school trip...although they really do try to be authentic, it even smells like a Viking village, not that I know what one would smell like but it does seem pretty spot on!

It's really good in here, entering a time machine as soon as you enter which takes you back to the viking times, it has lots of original and fun ideas. Once you have been sucked back through time you enter a cart which takes you round what a viking village would of looked and even smelt like with a voice tutorial as you go along. Then at the end they have a little museum. Well worth seeing!

Fun viking museum in York. Always busy with school trips, the centre has some really interesting and well laid out attractions. The reconstructions of viking life are really interesting (and quite smelly). They also seem to update the centre quite frequently so that if you've been before there will still be new things of interest. Definitely one of the top attractions in York which everyone should experience at least once
