Travelodges are a good, reliable choice for when you've got to be out of town for a night and you just need somewhere to sleep.

The Oxford Peartree Travelodge was of a good standard. Clean, modern and with friendly staff, it did precisely what it was supposed to. While a little out of the centre, it is 2 mins walk from the park and ride, which is quick and cheap. It also had plentiful free parking, which can be the deal breaker for this sort of hotel. Clearly they aren't setting new standards for hotels, but noone expects them to, and you get more than you pay for.

And you get 25% off at the Little Chef for breakfast. Can't decide if that's a point for or against...
