I love Basement! I don't care if it's a bit grimy or a bit cramped, I love it! Drinks are really cheap, especially Skittles and trebles and the music is always such a random mix of songs, it makes a great atmosphere. I think the fact that it's small and dingy actually adds to its character, it makes it feel like a secret underground club and gives it a bit of an edge.

Yes this place is very cheap, and the triples will blow your head off without burning a hole in your pocket.
It is however far too cramped, the bouncers let too many people in and it becomes just an uncomfortable experience overall. It is always very busy due to the cheap drinks and good central location. The floor is always sticky, the queues are big at the bar and its usually full of people who have had too much to drink. Not pleasant.

Great Bar located right near Newcastles famous monument! on Grey street. Recently refurbished, Basement is actually just what its name says, a club in a basement! It is quite small inside and is often very crowded as people flood in to make use of the very cheap drink prices and the special offers which they do, such as 3 trebles including mixers for £5:50! Inside, it is quite dark and dingy and can sometimes get quite hot, although the music and atmosphere are both very good. The bar is often used as a starting point for student bar crawls.

The most basic of all trebles bars! Basement is good for a pit stop to make sure you're well gone before you hit another bar or club! Always absoultely rammed, especially on a Thursday, so is sometimes hard to get a drink. Really small venue, usually your feet stick to the floor, the ladies toilets are distinctly average - out of two one doesn't lock, both never have any loo roll, but the now boast a mirror. Yesss!

Another of Newcastle's finest- the trebles bar. Not for the snobby or anyone after a drink in a nice place. basically Basement is for the students of Newcastle to get pissed before hitting a club. Its a fight to the bar so your best bet is buying all your drinks at once, the floors sticky, it smells, drinks come in tiny cups, the ladies toilets aren't pleasant but for £2 a treble, 2 jagerbombs for £5 or 4 shots for £5 you can't really moan. The musics funs, everyone dances like a lunatic, it is a must to get ready for the night ahead.

This is a great bar if you want cheap alcohol and don't care about being classy. It can sometimes smell quite bad, the floors are sticky, the toilets leave a lot to be desired and it's often a fight to get to the bar, but when you're paying 2 for a treble, or a fiver for 2 skittles or jagerbombs, who's complaining? And the music's great fun to get you in the mood for the night ahead.

Basement is known as a pre bar, students like to spend money on trebles here, getting as drunk as possible before moving onto the major clubs. Trebles are £2 to all.
The decor however is nothing special and the club is rather tacky, but the crowds of students that enter the doors make it a place worth staying in.

Basement is a small bar next to momument. The drinks are quite cheap with deals such as 2 skittles or jagerbombs of £5 or trebles for £2. The staff are always friendly although i feel it can be sometimes a little understaffed as waiting for drinks at busy times can take quite a while. It can get very busy at times which isn't good as you end up with more of your drink down you rather than drinking it

Basement is quite dark and gloomy, as it is in the basement, but the music is good to dance to and the drink deals are good, such as £2 trebles and two Skittles for £5. Basement makes a good pre-bar to the clubs in Newcastle.

Terrible bar. Really grotty and smelly. Famous for Trebels for 3 fo £5.50, but they are in really small glasses so undrinkable. Very popular with students but always busy and it is tiny bar so it just feels rammed. Also the toilets are horendous they are too small and smell badly.
