Nice small bar with fairly central location and definitely on the way into town for many a student living in the northern halls (Duryard, Birks)It is a great place to stop off and a have a drink or two, the sofas and nice decor in there really help to create a nice atmosphere.

Great little bar with comfy sofas, if you can get one as it tends to fill up in a blink of an eye. Cheap drinks, nice bar snacks and live music. It really have a great atmosphere due to its individuality in decor, a hive of action most nights, if you wanna go for a quiet drink make an effort to get in there early so you can get a nice seat, try by the window, theres nothing nicer than being all smug with a pint in a comfy chair watching people barge around through the Queen St crowds outside, especially if it's raining!

The Angel has a very pleasant, relaxed vibe; the decor is cosy and welcoming, and at the same time quite stylish. Drinks are all reasonably priced, and service is excellent. This is a very popular pub with students and Exeter residents alike, and is a haven for many local 'characters' willing to chat with anyone who will listen. Due to its popularity, it can get very busy, and I have on occasion seen queues to get in.

Fantastic pub, the thing I like most about the Angel is the beautiful decor. The lighting & decoration is really something that stands out as soon as you walk in. They really have put a lot of effort into making this an enjoyable, relaxing place to sit and drink. They have some great live music at times, particularly wednesday (I think) when they have an open mic night, open to a talented host of regulars.Generally the ambient music at other times reflects a strong liking for jazz & blues. As this is a venue close to Exeter University, it is very popular with the local student population. And so it should be.

Small but beautifully formed venue, just off the High Street in Exeter. Good live music, from bands to DJ's. They don't serve meals, but do offer the usual pub snacks. Also, they have lovely hot chocolate, tea, and a range of coffees together with the usual alcohol selction. A few comfy sofas and chairs at the far end of the pub, also a great place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, after far too much retail therapy.
