One of the prettiest set of gardens in Europe in one of the greatest areas of Europe. Princes St gardens are great. They host events during the summer, has an ice rink during winter, and they generally decorate a rather grey Edinburgh throughout the year. Beautiful flower arrangements.

When I came up for a weekend we had a lovely picnic here as it has a great viwe of the castle and the gardens themselves are beautiful. They have lovely park benches where people read books aswell.

In my opinion the princes street gardens are the heart of the city. they are overlooked by the impressive castle and princes street on the other side. perfect place to sit after a tiring day shopping or sightseeing, on a hot day the grass will be covered with people having ice cream and relaxing.

This is really a great feature of Edinburghs city centre. It is overlooked by the stunning Edinburgh Castle. It is beautifully kept. A great thing to do on a summers day. Lots of places for ice cream. It has a stage in the middle, which is used at certain times throughout the year.

One of the best things about Edinburgh. Possibly the best thing to do on a summer day in Edinburgh is to walk round, or have lunch in Princes street gardens. Beautiful and almost unbelievable as it is bang in the city centre

Technically i wouldn't class Princes street gardens as a business as they don't take your money, however they are certainly a big highlight of the city centre. Guaranteed to be packed on a sunny day and if you're a local you'll meet loads of people you know there such is the nature of the place. Really well kept gardens which are nice to stroll through or sit in throughout the year (not so nice in the rain i find though). There are numerous different areas including a kids play area, a big fountain (spot the drunk students in it in the summertime) and numerous seating areas. Being located right below the castle means that the gardens are visually quite stunning, and they're perfectly placed for taking a break from shopping on Princes street
