This is one of the best shops ever for birthday presents! It isnt that well known because it is down the far end of the high street, on the corner of the cross roads that is opposite snappy snaps and BHS. (Opposite end to princesshay) but it is well worth a visit. It sells really fun wrapping paper, cards, posters and little presents, and is much cheaper than paperchase. It also has a section of photo and picture frames. Always my first stop at christmas and birthdays.
This place is a bit commercial for me - I used to like it when I was younger and was looking for gifts for my teenage friends, but now I prefer buying more original things. Having said that, the framed pictures and posters are good in that there's a good range, but the prints are expensive. The staff are never very friendly either.
This is the perfect place if you want to pick up a gift for someone - there is literally everything you could think of - pictures, frames, paintings, quirky cards, alarm clocks....you really are spoilt for choice. modern decor and happy assistants makes it a fun experience to shop there. The shop is relatively small but a great choice of product none the less.
A store crambed with gifts and artwork! the store is located at the bottom of the high street. It is hard to find available staff though as there never seems to be enough! but you can find really good cards!
if in halls, a great place to come and pick up a few posters to decorate! lots of lovely unusual and quirky items for gifts! definately the place to buy birthday cards as lots of choice!
A nice shopo on the edge of the main high street, Staff are friendly, and this is a great shop to find unusual things to give as presnts, or to find greta pictures for a new house. Can be a littler over proiced unless you know what you're looking for.
Quite nice little shop if your looking for arty pictures or postcards, but it is overpriced in my opinion and the staff aren't always incredibly helpful, but you do find the occasional gift idea, the photo frames are lovely but again, pricey.
This store is really nice to look at but its a little pricey to consider buying much more than a poster from. Still it has a huge range of canvas, photos etc for your home as well as posters for the younger generation and all sorts of gifts/fairy lights etc. The staff arent great, a little stuck up if im honest but if your looking for inspiration to decorate you home, its definatly worth a visit
A nice modern looking store that is laid out very well, on the corner after the Guildhall Shopping Centre entrance. They cater for all ranges, from canvas prints for putting on your modern home wall or cheap (not price) posters for students to whack up in halls. If you buy a poster from here, you will see it again somewhere around campus, don't expect any of the posters you buy here to be unique. The prices are very expensive, especially for birthday cards (go to the store on Sidwell Street called Cards & Things)
Stupidly expensive gift range & snooty staff. The staff always seem to be chattng away and not actually helpfing anyone. However, it's in a good location with plenty of prints & frame options to choose from together with the usual poster collection.
Athena is one of those pseudo-sophisticated art outlets that sell everything from Pulp Fiction posters to framed Salvador Dali prints. The standard teen orientated posters are fairly well priced, and they do have a wide selection. But the more 'grown-up' art prints are very costly, and a simple canvas with a pop art design could easily set you back £50. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you want a one off piece of popular artwork, or maybe an attractive landscape photo to hang above your mantlepiece, then Athena may well have what you are looking for. But you wont find anything original, this really is art for the masses. They also have some rather nice birthday cards, and quirky gifts in here too.
