this is a great site for any student wishing to purchase student texts. they offer them here for the fraction of the price they do in the shops from my experience and delivery has always been efficient for me.

A very addictive site that I try to avoid when I know that I have some money left in my bank account! They have incredible bargains on shoes, books, DVD's, Cd's - everything you could ever want actually! The CD collection is particularly extensive - with foreign CD's that are exclusive to Amazon! They even allow to sample the songs before deciding if you want to buy it or not! Delivery is cheap, free on orders over 15 and the site is easy to use! Its perfect for buying little house and home gifts as well!

Oh amazon, the reason that it is not safe for me to sit at a computer for too long if there is any money whatsoever in my bank account! Amazon has expanded exponentially since its launch as a book website, and the amount of products that the site offers is staggering. Books, music, DVDs, games, toys, shoes, kitchenware, electricals... amazon is a huge, huge company now but most certainly does not have a market monopoly. The website is easy to navigate and delivery is free on orders over 15. Amazon Marketplace allows the user to buy from individual traders but with the assurance that the transaction is safe and secure, as the order is processed by Amazon.

All in all, a must-visit site for most online purchases - just don't go overboard or your rent might not get paid that month...

Amazon is a fantastic website. They offer items at good prices and they offer everything you could possibly want.
Amazon sell things from clothes to electricals to DVDs, like i said everything. I'd say there main competitor would be Play.com and out of the two i prefer Amazon.
Amazon offer free delivery like Play.com (however only if you spend over 15) but they also give you options to upgrade to first class for a small price. This is useful when its for gifts.
Also Amazon Marketplace is much better than Play Trade, there are so many sellers on Amazon Market place and you can find really cheap items here, even cheaper than the bargins you find on ebay.
Another nifty feature is that Amazon incorparate a good way in sending you information about products you may like as most of the time you genuinely do want the product. Even the home page includes items that you want instead of stupid items you would never consider.

I began using Amazon at the beginning of 2008 as a buyer and have to say that I am very impressed with the site - I like the fact that u can review what other customers thought about the product before you buy, only downside is that not every single product has a review to it - but it gives you a chance to add your own review of certain products. Another downside is the price of delivery - sometimes i feel that sellers slightly overcharge on P&P but u do get a very well packaged product, and delivered very quickly too! The search facility on this site is excellent - its catagories on the left hand side of the page make it easy to find what your looking for too, overall I am very impressed with this site and highly recommend it to anyone!

Amazon is a great site to find. They sell a very wide variety of things and can virtually always offer you a really low price. Many items can be bought for 1p too. If you search on price and look at the lowest you can find many items which can be real bargains. I recently bought a micro sd card for my phone (2gb with pc adaptor) and i got it for a penny. It was a geniune product too which would usually cost about 10. It's a brilliant website and also gives you the opportunity to sell items.

I love the dvd rental idea! Every week we get a new film for a very reasonable price, sometimes we do have a slight wait for a certain DVD so perhaps they should have a larger collection of each DVDs? Simple customer friendly layout.

I have been a customer of Amazon for a number of years and I am still a satisfied customer. Before I make a purchase online I always do research to find the cheapest price and 9/10 times I always end up back at Amazon.
I also sell goods through Amazon who then take a small commission for each good that gets sold. I sell a small number of bits and bobs around the house but have made some impressive money for things I was prepared to throw away.

A quality website that stocks everything you could want from homeware to cds and dvds. Although I mainly purchase items from the entertainment section of the website (which are all of competitive price and very quickly delivered) the other items I have also bought have been good quality and equally speedy to arrive. Its also great if youre having a clear out as amazon marketplace allows you to sell your own items to members of the public quickly and easily. It also allows you to set one fixed price for people to pay so there is no auction element like eBay.

Everything musically, and entertainment related through film and television that you could ever want. If it isn't on here then it just doesn't exist or isn't cool. The clearout sales are exceptional, with films as little as £3 and the service and delivery is fast and efficient.

It has all the dvds,cds, electricals and books you could want. It has recently started selling shoes and clothes too which shows that it is doing well enough to expand the products it offers. Theie service is quick and the products are at good prices.

Amazon is, in my opinion, the best online ordering website that exists. I've used it many times to order items from course books to console games. You rarely find prices cheaper than on Amazon, and if you spend over £15 the postage is free. Add to this Amazon Marketplace, where you can buy and sell second hand items, you are almost guaranteed to find the cheapest price on this website. Amazon also allow you to review products and sellers, which can often given valuable information before you buy. I have never had trouble with either Amazon or Amazon Marketplace, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap buy.

I've never had any bad experiences with Amazon, and I've used them quite a lot. The prices are better than most other shops for books, and quite a lot of their electronics are very reasonably priced too (stuff like dictaphones etc.) The site is particularly good, because you can read the customer reviews before buying a product, rather than just reading what the manufacturer has written about the product. I like the fact that the site doesn't remove negative reviews (or not constructive negative reviews, at least) so you can often be warned off a product you're about to buy, if others have had bad experiences. Also useful, is the 'customers who viewed this item also liked...' feature, which can be a useful way of comparing a lot of alternative products.

As an English Literature student I find it far too pricey to purchase my books from shops like Waterstones. I therefore always use amazon.co.uk to buy my books, which you can sometimes get for as little as 1p! I always receive my books as promised, mostly within 2-3 working days which is fantastic. Postage and packaging is usually between £2-£3 which bumps up the price a little but all in all it still works out cheaper than if I were to shop in a major bookshop. I would advise every English student to do this - it saves so much money! It seems that the site is also very safe to divulge your credit or debit card details.

I've almost completely stopped buying DVDs in town now, thanks to the used and new section in the Amazon marketplace. Particularly older DVDs to complete my collection, i can pick them up for a £1 or less plus £1.24 p&p. Bargain.

Better than Ebay, to sell and Buy. Much more reliable and I like the fact that they dont charge fees for selling which is great. Ive bought many books from this company, theyre in pretty much good condition and so cheap which I thrive upon. All in all, a great top place to shop. It has almost every book you could ever wish for, and if not then its bound to be there second hand. The second hand items are usually very cheaply priced, even with the standard rate postage and packaging added on. Delivery is fast, and if not, they will let you know when it is due to be dispatched. I have never had a problem with the site, it is fantastic.

This is a good alternative to play as you buy more electronic stuff, which you wouldnt find on play. Each time ive ordered from amazon my item has arrived either the net day or the day after so delivery has always been good for me. I am surprised that has been reviewed so consistantly well on Helphound as even though it is an amazing website where you are able to purchase almost anything from computer software to books, their delivery is often less than perfect. I have often had to wait a lot longer than they say to recieve a product which can be annoying especially if I need something urgently. In my opinion one of the best things about Amazon is the way you can buy used produce as well as brand new. This means that it deals with all budgets. Overall,m a good website though-just sort out the delivery!!

Amazon is an amazing website. You can buy almost anything there. All you have to do is type in what you want and it comes up with several products. The price of things on Amazon is good but you can sometimes get it cheaper if you buy something off another company on amazon. Amazon is one of the best shoppings website.

The Amazon site itself is good but it has some fundamental problems which I hate. When I add something to my basket I like to see what I'm going to end up spending. On amazon you only know what postage and packaging charges they are going to slap on you after you go through finalizing your order so if you think the postage and packaging charge (usually around 5!) makes they items not worth buying you have wasted loads of time. Why can't the pricing be more transparent like HMV (which have free delivery and show what you will end up spending in at the top right of the screen)? Amazon also very rarely has decent offers with items being either the same price or more expensive than can be found in other places even in the sale. I have also been let down a number of times by late deliveries.
They offer a good range of items, and there prices are more average than expensive but Amazon does still have some major faults they could do with ironing out.

Please do not do what i did, and run out and buy them from blackwells, as you will be disappointed in the amount of money you have wasted, especially seeing as though you wont really use the books you have purchased.

The best place to buy books on the internet. Generaly a touch cheaper than in shops, and you don't have to trawl around 100s of shops looking for a specific book

I bought some statistical tables of amazon last year that were 2nd hand so got them for £3, when they are originally £15 and they were pratically brand new, you couldn't tell they had ever been used.

Along with selling their own products at resonable prices they have a market place for other sellers where you can buy new and used goods at really good prices. this is a good site that sells coming on everything, the market place function is good as increases the number of products they sell. the site can be a bit complicated to use as is slightly out of order as the rapid growth of it and it being maintained by so many people but if your looking for something you can find it here!

Amazon is a great place to buy all of your uni books sometimes being £10 cheaper than bookshops and even cheaper if you buy them second hand from the market place. Delivery is very reasonable and if they send you the wrong item or the item is damaged they will refund you the item cost, original postage and the postage for you to return it with no quibbles.

Not only is Amazon a way to get a new book rapidly delivered you can save money by getting a good quality secondhand one. I have found the descriptions are accurate as to condition. Some reviews give so much information that you can then go off and search the web about the further detail you need. If you are trying to help a cause (or an author) write your own review of books about it.

An excellent online retailer. In my opinion the best currently operating in the UK for general items. I have always found the pricing to be best on technology like camera, camcorders, and games consoles; as well as DVDs, games and books. amazon.co.uk is a great website to buy anything really. the do a great range of brand new and second hand products. the site is easy to use, looks good and takes no time to buy something at all.

This site is excellent for snatching up great deals at well below face value. I've used this site for dvd boxsets such as 24 and got them for as little as £10 when they would have been £40 in the shops. As a student this site is perfect for buying your books from because you can buy them second hand and the book list you will get from university will be massive and thus expensive unless you buy them off a site like this.
