As a student at this school, im eagerly baffled that I have come out of this school knowing more than when I went in. The whole school just reeks of budget cuts and builders who cant be arsed to work. The main block is a corridor that is so small it eventually gets clogged up with humans. I dont know whats worse, the smallness of the corridors due to badly drawn schematics or the teachers not thinking its a problem until my 4th years there where they eventually realised it would be better to do a one way system.
The size of the corridors is bad enough, but the walls and ceilings are just cardboard sandwiches with a foam filling. And thats not a metaphor. It literally is 2 sheets of card with some foam. What a disgrace. Not to mention having a head master who thinks he still lives in the 16th century of education. When confronted with the questionable budget cuts, he claims the school isnt getting enough funding. Yes, the school isnt getting enough funding for a good work environment and resources, but strangely theres enough money to go around for expensive looking newsletters that just over does the gloss just a bit too much and a grand piano that only the headmaster can play. Anyone else who touches it is excluded (and this time, that was a metaphor)
Now, here is the part where I usually have to counter my negative points with something nice about the school. But the school is dreadful, so much so that the best thing about it are the teachers who work there, who somehow have knowledge and the ability to communicate across verbal information that is useful without resources to cop out on. I actually have to applaud a teacher there called Mr Dainty, who has turned my entire learning spectrum on its head when countless teachers and resources have failed me, in 2 years he managed to give me the amount of knowledge to pass 2 great subjects without the use of pesky resources. This is the kind of man you need in a budget crisis. Without him I would probably have failed more than I did.
