As a well established business name, you would expect a certain level of professionalism from a name such as Pizza Hut but unfortunately, the Pizza Hut at Rogers Quay in Carrickfergus grossly misses the point.
Whether dining in or taking out, this "restaurant" has failed me in so many ways that I've sworn that not even a free meal would tempt me back!! On occasion, I've been waiting for over an hour for 1 take-out pizza only to find that they have mixed up my order so someone else has been given my pizza and I've been offered theirs. After waiting a further 20 minutes for the mistake to be rectified, the pizza has arrived with no apologies or reimbursements.
Almost every member of staff I've had to deal with have been undertrained on how to use the ordering system which has often resulted in my order containing a topping which I am allergic to, even though I've stressed this point at the time of ordering. Again, we've had to wait an eternity for the mistake to be rectified and no apology was offered for the error.
The one time I dined in at Pizza Hut, my husband and I ordered the Buffalo Wings as a starter and were horrified to find they were scalding hot on the outside but chilly in the middle, and even more disgusted when we called over our waiter who took them off us and brought them back a few minutes later still sizzling from their stint in the microwave, complete with the half-chewed remains that my husband and I dared not eat. Needless to say they remained uneaten the second time round!!
One positive about Pizza hut I have to admit is that the restaurant itself is very light, airy and clean, however, even on the coolest of days, the Air Conditioning is set to Arctic so I would advise bringing a jumper along with you as it's often warmer outside than it is inside!!
