I spent eleven years at Leeds Grammar School (from 7-18) and I enjoyed my time there immensely. The school moved to its current location in 1997, and the school buildings and facilities are all very modern. It merged with Leeds Girls' High School in 2008 to become the Grammar School at Leeds, and as such extensive building work is being undertaken to extend the facilities further. The staff are all extremely friendly and supportive - the senior school is divided into Lower, Middle and Upper School, plus the Sixth Form, all of which have their own head of school who looks after the section. The teaching staff encourage you to aim high at GCSE and A Level, and support everyone's university applications. Leeds Grammar School is very competitive in terms of sports - they have teams for rugby, football and cricket, but also hockey, tennis, swimming and other sports. The time I spent at Leeds Grammar School was thoroughly enjoyable and I would highly recommend it as a school.
