Decent supermarket. Great positioning if you are situated at Parrish court student accomodation, otherwise its a bit out of the way for many students unless you get a taxi ride. Can do a great shop if you look out for all the offers but everything else is usually reasonably priced. Well stocked and large and spacious, queues can get quite large when busy. Good selection of spirits!
If your a student in Jesmond in Newcastle this is probably your closest supermarket. It is never really super busy and is just a general homogenous supermarket. It does have some good bogof deals though. And has everything you need when grocery shopping.
This supermarket is okay, it's not as cheap as Asda or Tesco, but the prices are reasonable. They have a wide range of products and the staff are helpful enough, I just think it seems a bit dingy and old-fashioned.
This store is a nice store and stocks a wide range of items, the offers are good and the staffing level is always good at the checkouts, the only problem with this store is the location you cant really get there without a car.
This Morrissons is a good supermarket if you can get there, which probably does require a car. If you don't have a car available it is probably easier and cheaper to order your groceries online or go to the co-op in the city center.
Quite a large Morrisons but quite away out of town and not in the best of areas. Staff can be very grumpy and are generally young teenagers just trying to get off the streets and give them something to do. On the up side, there is a very large selection and the fresh meat at the meat counter always looks and tastes great especially the black pepper Norwegian ham!!! mmmmm..........
The Morrisons is in a great location and easy to get to if you dont have your own a car, just a bus ride from the city centre and it has competitive prices and a good variety of food. The customer service is of the highest standard at this Morrisons.
This is a very well equipt supermarket and is a little cheaper than the likes of marks and spencer and sainsburys. Staff are helpful and friendly and it is the ideal place to get your weekly big shop in.
For students, those shopping on a budget, or just a fan of good cheap food there is little better than Morrisons on the supermarket chain. Their 'Morrisons Own' style food is of an excellent quality (better than Tescos and the other supermarket chains). The staff are friendly all through the store, and nothing is too much of a problem for them when you need some assisstance. The range of meats, bread and fresh produce is also excellent. The petrol prices are amongst the best you can find, making a trip to the Byker Morissons one of the most pleasant supermarket experiences you can have. It is also on a lot of major bus routes, for those without cars.
A good place to shop for food as a student. The quality is high, and the prices are very reasonable. It is probably the best place for supermarket shopping if you live in Heaton or Byker, and is close enough to Byker Metro Station to reach easily if you live further afield.
A WM Morrison's superstore, with attached gas station. This store has all of the requisite departments for a superstore: in store bakery, cafe and diner, news stand, large butcher and fishmonger. Everything that I've purchased here has been high-quality and relatively decently priced. Morrison's has an expensive line of really good quality dry goods and food, but their regular in store brand is a step above that of Tesco, for instance. This is in a fun section of town, just down the road from several charity shops and a vibrant high street.
