you would not think of this place as a Whetherspoons from the outside with the building looking all grand and on the inside its nicely decorated. It is though which is a bonus as u get the spoons prices on food and drink! A great place to go for some cheap food and a drink or as a warm up to a club such as Digital.

A nice old looking building, the Union rooms is spread over 2 floors and therefore is spacious inside. The decor is not tacky like a lot of bars in newcastle so it is a welcome change. The drinks aren't too cheap but not too bad as with all Whetherspoons. Well positioned if you fancy going to Digital on the night.

Pretty nice for a wetherspoons. Located next to central station, the bar has aquired a certain grandeur it doesn't deserve from the grand old building and nice old decorations and paintings inside. drinks fairly cheap and you can buy pitchers of cocktails to share. Nice to come to in the daytime for a cheap meal.

The union room offers great discounts on selected drinks and wide range of food. The atmosphere is lively, and there is plenty of room to sit and enjoy a meal with your friends. There are 2 floors and the layout makes it look really spacious.

Like most Weatherspoon pubs The Union Rooms offers cheap food and drinks in an interesting location. Nice old building with large rooms and upstairs and downstairs bars and eating areas. The Union Rooms shows sky sports and the mixed crowd of students and locals generally get on well. All usual JD Weatherspoons offers apply including beer and a burger for around £5 and grill and curry nights. Definitely worth a visit

The Union Rooms is a typical Weatherspoons pub, serving cheap drinks and cheap pub food. The pitchers of cocktails are just over a fiver so you cant go wrong. There are several rooms, each with a different atmosphere, the main room is fairly loud, whereas the back room is more chilled out, but there is no music in any room which is a downside.

This bar is in a great location near to the city centre and is also owned by Weatherspoons which shows what a top quality bar it is.
Cheaps are always cheap like in most of Newcastle and all of the staff are always really helpful and I have never had to wait long to be served.
Good music and atmosphere as well.

Nice bar, with a great selection of different drinks, for cheap prices. It's owned by Weatherspoons, and the bar itself (the building, layout, etc..) is really nice. It doesn't get too busy, and the atmosphere isn't that great, but for the price of the drinks, and the quality of the food, it's a great place, and in a decent location not too far from the city centre.

it is situated near the central station, its a cool victorian building, run by weatherspoons, so the food is always tasty and filing!! it has a very good atmosphere, there are two bars downstairs and a large open area upstairs. staff are very friendly too, so If you are in Newcastle and looking for somewhere to stop for a quick drink, a long drink, a meal or an evening out, this is the place to go.
