I love going to The Cockpit, it is always a great night out whether you are going to a gig or enjoying one of their club nights. The venue is intimate ensuring great views of your favourite bands and the drinks are cheap too. The club nights have 3 great rooms of music catering for differing tastes so you can dance the night away and the atmosphere is always relaxed with no hassle. It can get pretty sweaty in there and the toilets nearly always flood by the end of the night but you are there to Rock out, and that comes with territory.

This place is a great place for a night out in Leeds or for a gig. I have only been out there on a Saturday but my experience was good. Cheap(ish) drinks - double vodka and mixer for 2 and entry at a fiver the Cockpit has three consecutive music rooms for you to surely find a song you want to dance to and stay there all night. All the people there are friendly. My only qulam about this place is that it can get very very sweatly however it's not too bad coz you can alway go outside and cool down. Many big artists have also played gigs here. Definitely worth a visit!

This is a brilliant place for any gig you go to and not too bad for nights out either. There's always something going on and it's full of great people in my opinion. Definatly recomended for a night out!

the cockpit always seems to have the best bands and a wide selection of different music tastes on offer whatever day of the week. it also has an amazing atmosphere inside which never dulls even though the place is down the bottom end of leeds under the dark arches. over the years the cockpit has hosted some of the best gigs i have ever been to and i have no doubt it will continue hosting them for years to come.

Really good indie club to go if your out in Leeds, can get pretty hot under the collar, but if you get enough drinks down you it doesnt really matter. Was pretty packed when I went there with great music, not bad drinks prices and its in a good location, so I found it easy to locate

One of the best and most atmospheric bars/clubs in Leeds, the Cockpit on a Saturday and Friday night is one of the best nights out if youre looking for a good time with decent rock and metal music to dance/jump to. The Cockpit is also famous for being a great gig venue, and in the past have played host to many great bands such as Biffy Clyro, New Young Pony Club, HIM and Alexisonfire. There is also the chance for unsigned bands to promote their music here, and are allowed to play on stage before the main band. On a Friday and Saturday live DJs play some fantastic music to jump around to, and the crowd is a decent mix of people looking for a great night out. At £4 entry it makes for a cheap night out and the drinks are standard prices.

In my opinion the cockpit to me is one of them places that you love to hate, or hate to love. Although this music venue is targeted towards indie fans, many people who dislike indie still go as they think its a wicked place to be. My only complaint is that it becomes really hot in here, make sure you drink plenty of water.

The cockpit isnt the best venue to listen and watch live bands perform. However, it does have the capacity to hold large crowds, making it popular with students. Many bands have performed here, with new and up coming artists often choosing this venue to promote themselves. However the location of the club isnt the most desired place in leeds.

Other reviewers have described the Cockpit as intimate, but I would consider it slightly grungy, if not dirty! However, having said that I have had plenty of good nights there and there are always a good array of bands or DJs playing that make the night a great experience. Furthermore, being situated right under the station bridge if you are travelling from afar to see a band, then it is very easy to find.
