Really busy store. But if you search well, you can find things much cheaper than elsewhere(unless you include other pound shops:P) Lots of sweets also, but theyre not that great of a deal.
Now this place is the dogs b******s. You can get 4 cans of whatever pop for a pound. It's not too bad. Not only that but body care products, shampoos, vitamins, house hold essentials are all major cheap. Brilliant when you need something desperatley without dishing out!
I love pound shops, although this one does cheat a little bit, as some of the things are a few pounds more (posh boxes of chocolate etc) but it's a great place to pick up a bargain - stuff like photo frames, cleaning stuff, notebooks and lots and lots of dog and cat toys are all good value. Stuff like big bags of sweets and chocolate are also worth buying (but check best before dates, they often don't have long left!) Very quick turnover of stock, so if you like something, buy it, as it's quite likely not to be there next time you go back!
I love poundland, it's amazing, everything is £1!!!! You can find some really quirky stuff here too, I once spent an hour just going around seeing the weird and wonderful things on sale. But seriously, if you want a bargain and are after some household essentials (e.g. mops) or comfort food then this is definately the place to go!
You can't knock the prices in this shop, everything is (yep, you guessed it) a pound! From books to toiletries, cleaning products to stationary and everything in between.....if you're willing to search through the heaps of stuff and untidy shelves then it can be a heaven for bargain hungry students. I actually quite enjoy looking round to see what amazing but useless things you can buy for just a pound; even if I know Ill never ever need them. Plus if I go here, it's only round the corner from Jumbo records so all that money I've just saved in Poundland I can go throw away in Jumbo records on lovely CDs (I wish they were a pound, then I'd really save some money!)
As soon as i stepped into this shop, a whole shelf full of massive bottles of washing up liquid collapsed and the toppled all over the floor, and the staff just dallied about and didn't seem to have a clue about what to do. Then some sort of alarm started going off, again, no one did anything, it was hot, full of people, and the shelves were a total mess, I hurried out of there as soon as I could. Yes there are bargains to be found if you're prepared to hunt about in the chaos for them, but i personally don't think its worth it.
Poundland is very popular with students. Probably because they stock rubbish that most students consider a good buy at the time. They do have cheap toiletries though, meaning students can afford more for less. The shop is always untidy and does become rather streesful at times.
Poundland is just that, a shop, with a range of products, that each cost £1. Thats right, one whole pound. Its great for students as it is within their price range.
Its also good for wrapping paper, gift boxes and gift tags, especially during the christmas period.
A large shop in the Merrion centre where everything is a pound. Great for getting cheap stationary and kitchenware for students which you dont mind throwing away at the end of the year. Also lots of stuff you can buy for fancy dress. This place is a little gem and often snubbed at.
This is a brilliant store for toiletries because they are literally a pound. Also a 300 page pad of paper is a pound. It is always worth going here first if you are buying anything other than clothes. The big packs of batteries are only a pound but they do not not work in digital cameras
I love this shop!! I'd reccommend to anyone - students and anyone else who wants a bargain! They even sell food - which is in date!! It's also fabulous for toiletries and some stationary. However, i once made the mistake of purchasing a bumper pack of batteries here and very few of them worked, so stick to items that can't 'break' or 'run out'! And yes, everything is a pound - as the many bright signs remind you as you wander round this land of cheap tresures.
Here's a fun game, go into poundland and ask a member of staff how much things are. Or just go in, get yourself a trolley and fill that bad boy up. There's loads of amazing things in here from food (hmm) to clothes (hmm) but its certainly worth a trip.
Exactly does what it says on the box
All items cost a £1.
This particular store is huge, with a large variety of products, your sure to find an item that grabs your attention
In particular great for buying note pads and pens for uni work,
Or multiple packets of crisps, for when your skint and cant think of how your going to survive for the next few days with no money
this poundland is stukc in one of the many shopping centres in leeds. its big and quite messy, but good if you only have a quid nad are obne of those people who hates going home without having bought anything, even if it is utter junk!
I can't really understand why people would complain about anything to do with a pound shop. It does exactly what it says on the tin - everything insode is a quid! Perfect place to get all those cleaning products you hate to buy, as well as a variety of other things including drinks, sweets, kids toys, batterys etc etc. You've got to expect this place to be busy, and whenever I've been in the tills have always been fully staffed so you're not kept waiting for too long!
A great place to pick up your domestic goods for very cheap. To be fair the quality there is not the greatest but the prices are so ridiculous if it breaks you can just buy another one. Nice wide range of products also
There are some utterly bizarre products stocked in poundland that it seems odd that any would ever consider! However poundland has become my absolute first call for all fancy dress requirements. Accessorizing is easy and crucially cheap (pirate swords, machine guns, police outfits) although the staff do make you aware of just what an idiot you are!
admittidly a lot of the stock in this store is rubbish. i once bought a 50 pack of batteries and only 4 of them worked. however for things like brand name toiletries and the odd bit of cleaning gear it is a great shop. you can bulk but crisps and chocolate for a party and the cleaning supplies to clean up after. you have to be very selective but for only a pound most of the time you cant go wrong! staff are friendly enough worth a look if your on a budget!
When you're being offered a bargain as horribly cheap as this, the first thing you should ask yourself is, "what's wrong with it then?"In Poundland, you get what you pay for, unless, of course, you get something you might find somewhere else for even less than a pound in which case it's your loss again. A big portion of the stock is usually something too awful for the other stores to sell, and I'm wondering whether the rest is just defective stock or food that's close to expiry. The first time I went there I saw a huge 1kg bag of pistachio nuts, but I didn't buy it for some reason. It wasn't there on the next day, but now when I look back on it, it probably would have ruined my opinion of pistachios anyway.
Poundland certainly sounds very exciting but believe me, its not!! i dont think anything is cheap because most of the stuff i wouldnt pay to have! most things are tacky and plastic and probably break within an hour of buying. its not a very nice shopping experience and the only time i would ever go there would be to get a costume for an otley run!! dont be fooled into thinking this place is worth a look, wilkinsons is a far better option for cheap items!
Dont get confused now, not everything in poundland is actually a pound! Its a cheap version of wilkinsons, offering everything from toiletries to electrical goods.
Great deal for students or anyone who's skint! If you aren't too fussed about which brand of what you want but need certain essentials, this is a great place for you! Some good name brand deals as well. Good for soap, hardware, toiletries, etc. Just have a look 'round, see what you like, and come back. Of course the shopping experience isn't 1st rate, but what can you expect from a shop selling £1 items?? In my opinion, the price makes up for anything else, just get in and out, and it'll be more than worth it!
good student shop, or people on a budget. good for toiletries, sweets and chocolate, cleaning and dressing up items. Does stock other items including toys, pet items, seasonal items etcGenerally has long queues and some products are a waste of money, but there are plenty of bargains if you look well!
great place for students. prices very good. go there for toblerone chocolate 200g for a quid, also crisps shampoo and other toiletries. Wella gel for 1.00 is an absolute bargain since it is sometimes around 3.00 elsewhere. good for coffee as well. for some reason, however there is constant beeping in store which often gives you a headache while you are shopping. recently started accepted card pymnts (above 5.00) so that's an advantage. OVERALL GREAT PLACE FOR STUDENTS
Graet place for students. Big selection of cheap (£1!) essential toiletries as well as crisps and snacks in large packets.I buy deodorant, shampoo, shower gel, soap, shaving foam etc all from this shop.
