This place is full of what you need, but to be quite honest I found the staff there a little rude, and there was a lot of disorganisation in their, and stock was missing from the shelves. Still, cigarettes are relatively cheap in comparrison to some places. It's a busy little place though.
A store that has all the basic items a student needs to survive. The prices are more expensive than alternative supermarkets though, but due to its location it so convienent.
I love the crispy chocolate cluster that are 2 boxes for £3.50. That is all this shop is good for really, its too expensive, the shelves are often quite empty and there are long queues going around the shop.
Even though this is just an average, not particularly cheap store, i couldn't live without it! For milk, bread and cheese (student essentials) and magazines, it's great, though i wouldn't advise doing your weekly shop here as fruit and veg is very expensive and you don't get much choice in terms of freezer or meat products. The queues in the evening can be ridiculous! However, the conveniance of a cash point and late opening hours, i can't really complain!
Just the typical convinience store. I dont go in too often as it can be a bit expensive but its located in the student area so its always good to by the odd missing ingredient.
I have a soft spot for Jacksons.
Probably because I spend at least £5 a day on its stock.
Always a good place to get some bits if your desperate but again, like The One Stop Shop, its pretty pricey,
Staff are always very friendly!
This place is literally on my doorstep and I must go at least once a day... they stock all the essentials plus a little bit more! However, I do always end up buying something I didnt go in for...
local shop in the centre of headingley, stocks the essentials such as milk, bread and alcohol but other than that it lacks much stock, i went in there once for essential toiletries and they didnt sell them and they dont offer any fresh fruit or vegetables. it is cheaper than other convienience stores such as onestop so in that sense a bonus, however if you are going for anything other than the bear essentials dont expect to find them!
this is a typical small convenience store in the centre of headingly. The range of goods isn't great but there is some fresh/nice food (supplied by Sainsburys) and there are some offers on and reduced stuff later in the day.
Good location near all the student housing. Friendly staff but a bit dodgy at closing as everyone wants to get in to get more alcohol! Quite expensive but usual prices for local supermarket.
Great place to go if your missing that key ingrediant or more importantly have run out of alcohol! Cash machine outside and they also offer caash back. Staff are very friendly even if it does seem like they havent got anything to do as there is always A LOT of staff working!
this is a really handy little local shop based in the heart of hyde park. students flock there late at night for a quick sugar fix or top up of what ever alcohol is on offer. there is a decent range of products considering the small size of the shop and everything is reasonably priced. the staff are all friendly and helpful the only thing i can say which would improve this store is if it was 24 hours and no just 7 till 11
Overpriced but convinient supermarket in Headingley. Good if you're just after 1 or 2 items as it's open late, but don't do a big weekly shop here - it's dfinitely worth the walk (or even the bus) to Asda or Morrisons.Staff are friendly in here but queues can be large so people get frustrated.
Sainsbury's local (at Jacksons)- beautifully presented local supermarket, with really friendly staff, except it always looks like it has been looted! Never has anything in, never any meat or skimmed milk! However, it does have an endless supply of cigarettes and lottery scratch cards, and plenty of wine! Not the cheapest, but very convienient for Hyde Park students. Opening hours are really good, open until 11 including Sundays.
