Sky has changed the way we watch TV for me it was a great improvement. TV signal in my town is really bad and having sky made the picture much better i even got channel 5. Not everyone likes sky as with so many channels there is a temptation never to move from in front of the screen. I recently upgraded to sky plus which is really good as I can save programs I like for after work and dont have to watch the hours of adverts that come with sky. I like the fact that there is pretty much a channel for everyone.

I havnt got sky TV im stuck with regular old digital box but most of my friends are now hooked up with sky and i'm really jealous. When i go to their houses i love watching all the different programmes you can get especially music and kids but people who have sky seem to get bored of it really quickly and fed up of paying the prices.

I think that the sky box is the best thing going, i bought it when it was first out and i have had no problems with it and loved it since the first day we got it. It is suitable for everybody as it has all the channels you would ever want to wish for but for some channels you may think that the price could be a bit more negotiable especially with the box office charging around £ 14 to watch a big boxing match

Our ever breaking sky box broke again and the person came out to fix it. He was a bit of a jobsworth, did everything by the book and even though had to give us a new box didnt give us the new remote that went with it even though i cant see what use it is to them any more. But i suppose you cant complain if someone is just doing their job the way they have been told to do it. However about 5 minutes before he was was finished he disappeared off into his van for a few minutes. Mr jobsworth had turned into Mr fag break. I can only assume he went off for a cigarette break as he came back smelling of fresh smoke and didnt smell of anything a few minutes before that. I wouldnt go and have a tea break 5 minutes before the end of finishing at someones house and i dont appreciate people going for cigarette breaks.

I have had sky for a long time and more recently sky+. The choice of channels is excellent as we have all the packages. The tv guide is very easy to use and makes viewing the tv schedule very easy. The sky movies has some good films but a lot of bad ones as well. Paying for films on box office is easy and you can get reasonably recent movies on it. The music channels are good as they have a channel for pretty much every type of music to suit your taste. Sky sports shows a lot of the big premiership matches so is a must have for many football fans however you will have to pay extra for some games on the setenta channel. Having sky is a bit expensive however as you pay a monthly fee depending on the packages you have. I would definetly recommend getting sky + which is hard disk recording box. It enables you to pause and rewind live tv and I have found this very useful. Recording programs is done at the touch of a button which is very easy.

People used to think that 5 channels was enough (or 4 if you couldn't get channel 5 like me) but then, along came Sky TV! We all wondered and amazed at its many channels and the nice music in played on the TV guide screen - it was a thing of dreams! Now of course, we're all used to it and take it for granted, but it's still just as amazing. Especially with the introduction of all those fancy packages, and then Sky Plus! Let's face it, even with all those silly shopping channels and the God channel, we couldn't live without Sky. It's become to intrigrated into our lives that we look curiously at people who haven't got it yet - "but, but, you've only got 4 channels! don't you get bored?".

The only thing i don't like about it is that they took Lost off channel 4 - how am i supposed to watch it while i'm at University now!!

I think Sky TV is fantastic - despite the rubbish such as shopping channels! - and I now feel i couldn't live without Sky Plus!! It's such a useful tool to be able to pause the programme you're watching so you can make a cup of tea or go to the loo! Favourite channels include UK TV Food and Sky One. There's always something to entertain and/or inform.

Sky TV has some amazing stuff on it, but also a whole load of unnessecary rubbish that I do not see the point of. If I had the money then I would probably have sky, simply due to Sky+, which I do think is fantastic. My real problem with Sky is the way that they make it sound affordable on adverts. It is something like £16 a month for TV and broadband. But when you actually go onto their website to choose your package it turns out that adding something like Sky Sports or Sky movies (the most popuar thins I would imagine) costs around another £35-60. Frankly I find this outrageous but if you have the money then fair enough

I love Sky TV, I don't know what I'd do without all the trashy tv it has to offer! You can get a variety of packages... sports and movies, music and movies, or all three! The people on the other end of the phone are generally really helpful and always try and fix whatever problem you have!

Good website and a good digital service. Easily the best digital service out so far. Good channels with a good record, and play/pause system. Great service.

Sky tv is fantastic and i must say in the 7 years i have had it installed in my house i have not been dissatisfied with the service, we have 3 boxes installed in the house and all of them have the top whack package and along with broadband with them as well i can say its well worth the money. All we need now is more HD channels to come out and i will switch to Sky HD.

I have just spoken to David at technical dept after I got the message 'System Fault - Sky+ and recording not working'. He quickly sorted the problem out and got the box working again.

Anyway, the message also had said 'ring 0870 5800 800'. I decided instead to go to the 'Say no to 0870' website (see reviews on HelpHound) and see if there was a cheaper landline number to call. There was!! It's 01506 421 832! Use it whenever you call Sky to save pots of money! I'm now off to add a review to '0870' to thank them.

After suffering for two years with a rubbish digi box - we decided enough was enough.
Our final year of uni was not going to be spent putting up with emmerdale re-runs on itv2...we wanted more - we deserved better.
So Mr.Sky came round and set us up!
Wow - why would you ever go back to a digi box now? It caters for all the tastes within our seven person household and I cannot say there is ever a time that we are unsatisfied!
With a package that includes Sky TV, Movies, Sports, Internet and Phone - we are well and truly set up!
Love you Sky!

The sky signal is rubbish. A bit of light rain and it goes off straight away. A little bit of snow and its off most of the day. If in a few years the only way we can watch tv is through cable and sky then they need to make the quipment so it can with stand a bit of mild weather. When you first get sky its great, loads of channels and loads of new programmes but we have had sky since it first came out and the constant repeats of friends and the simpsons get old. If it wasnt for lost on sky one im not sure wed bother. So its good at first but after the first year youl get a bit bored.

Sky TV is a luxury that I have at home where as at Uni we have Virgin Media. Sky offers a much better range of channels and interactive services. The only problem is the signal can go a bit dodgy in heavy rain. Once you have had sky you can't go back!

I am hoping to get Sky in my new flat to replace Virgin as it is useless. From looking at the website and seeing adverts they offer a package for £16 a month inlcuding TV, Internet, and phone line with free evening and weekend calls. This seems a pretty good deal to me and I hope that their great advertising on the website is actually true when I get it in July! The website is very easy to use and you can sign up online.

I have subscribed to Sky TV ever since the demise of ITV Digital, which I had originally chosen for use with my digital television simply because it didn't need a set-top box. I could have waited for another free-view and on-demand service or even chosen a cable alternative, but I decided to take the plunge and buy a Sky+ digital satellite receiver and also subscribe to the full package available. At the time, the cost was £300 for the box and an extra £10 per month on top of the £40 monthly subscription. However, these costs did subsequently reduce and the total package on offer these days is much cheaper. Sky+ is what the Americans call TIVO, which enables pausing, rewinding, recording and playing back live TV programmes. This is a great advantage when you can receive so many channels, because there are frequent scheduling clashes. You can keep recorded programmes indefinitely and even download them to tape or DVD if you have the facility. However, the greatest advantage of this system is the fact that you can nearly always arrange to watch programmes on a delay and just fast-forward through the adverts! Since the system was installed, apart from rare occasions when a recorded programme simply disappeared, a temporary loss of disc space and an occasional need to reset the receiver, I have not had any problems with the service provided. I am therefore happy to recommend this service. I am now waiting for them to invent a real life gadget which enables me to replay things that people say to me on a day to day basis! An instant rewind facility would be brilliant!

I like this site because - like the TV - it is well presented and finished off to a brilliant standard. The search is powered by Google - big thumbs up - and the news, sports and features are comprehensively brilliant.

Sky now get a happy doggy tail and there are lots of reasons why :
- came out for free
- came out two days after calling to say it was broken
- the engineer called the night before to give a more specific time as to when he would come which is a lot better than just sometime between 12 and 5
- even though only classed as on a service call he completely uninstalled the old one and fully installed a new one
- all equpiment was free (which to be fair in my opionion it should be. If sky want you to keep paying £30 a month their equipment should be able to last a decent amount of time.)

The bad points:
- After the engineer left the box decided to turn itself off again. I hope this box isnt going to end up broken too. My parents have had countless sky boxes over the years because they broke. Sky get a few different companies to make their boxes, some better than others. I dont see why they cant get one really good company and stick with them.
- Once you are a sky customer they dont really care about you any more. When you are a new customer there are loads of offers, a free sky+ box here, free installation there. When someone who has had sky for about 10 years wants a sky+ box they have to pay full wack.
- The usual call out fee is £65. If you only have a small problem that will take a few minutes to sort out £65 is rather expensive.

Our sky was very badly fitted and due to that has broken. The box is broken and the wire is broken. Quite dangerously broken and had we not discovered it when we did our computer and tv could well have soon broken because of it. I called sky and after going through the really long options menu (convinient how the options to buy more products are always before the options when you need help) got through to an advisor after waiting a long time. I explained what happened and after putting me on hold for ages was told they would send someone in a couple of days to 'have a look at it'. The words 'have a look at it' is the reason sky only get a middle doggy tail. I dont know if someone is actually coming to fix it ie bring a new box and cable or if they are just coming to have a look and confirm its broke then tell us we need to pay lots of money to get it fixed. They are coming out fast and its free for them to come out which is why they get a middle doggy tail however we shall have to see if the tail will change to happy or sad. If the person does come out to confirm its broken and thats it, the person on the phone better be prepared for an ear full for I do not appreciate paying for someone to install things badly and result in them dangerously breaking. Also when phoning sky i would advise looking on the say no to 0870 website for a cheaper number. Their current number is apparently 5p a minute (and when you are on for hours you know its going to build up.) Not thats its easy to find any customer service number on their website as the only number they advertise is to buy new things.
