This is the main Norwich post office situated in the Castle Mall and, as post offices go, quite a big one with everything you might possibly need from envelopes to birthday cards to wrapping paper and foreign currency but it has one major flaw; it is ALWAYS busy!!!! If you need to get in and out then you are advised to locate one of the smaller post offices of which there are considerably fewer since the closures all across Norfolk and Suffolk. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day you go, the post office is always full with people queueing out the door and into the Mall itself. Why this should be- I'm not entirely sure as the staff do their best to process customers as quick as they can I'm sure. I think a large part of it is that although they have a lot of counters, most of them are often vacant of staff and I have never seen more than six or seven members of staff on duty when there is easily double that amount of counters. If you're on your lunch break and need to send something-don't even bother; you wonb't even get time to pick up a sandwich by the time you've braved the Castle Mall Post Office queues!!!!

This post office is a bit of a nightmare. The queues are always horrible and long and you end up waiting ages if you go in. They sell all the usual post office stuff and change currency but I find the layout very messy and confusing. Not the best place to spend time waiting as it seems to get pretty warm in here too.

Boo to Queues. This store really hasn't worked out its queuing system yet. If you are queuing for the main counter on a Saturday or between 12pm and 2pm during the week, expect to queue for no less than 10 minutes and possibly up to 20 minutes. This is really frustrating when you pop in on your lunch break to pay a bill - so avoid these times if possible. As we move closer to Christmas the queues are likely to get longer so don't expect it to be quick visit. Once you do reach the counter the staff are friendly and polite but by this time most of the customers are starting to lose their tempers. There is a range of stationary and other items that can be bought from a cash till near the entrance but if the queue still looks too large you can pop to the nearby Stationary store. This staff definitely needs to look to companies such as Boots and George who open more tills as the day gets busier.
