How do I become a HelpHound CollectTM member?

It is free to join HelpHound CollectTM online, and can be done in just a few minutes. We'll give you a Membership Number straight away so you can start earning Cashback.

I am an existing member of HelpHound, do I need to register with HelpHound CollectTM as well?

No, if you are already a member of HelpHound then you do not need to register for a new account. Simply sign-in to HelpHound as usual and click the HelpHound CollectTM link and you can start earning cashback. If you are not already a HelpHound member then simply register for free by clicking here.

Can I change my account details?

Yes, you can change your details at anytime by going to 'My Settings'.

Can I join if I live outside of the UK?

Sorry no, at this stage only UK citizens can join HelpHound CollectTM.

Do I need to join HelpHound CollectTM to earn Cashback?

Yes. As long as you're a member and have logged in, you can earn Cashback while shopping online.

Is it more expensive to shop via HelpHound CollectTM?

No you will not spend any more by using our site - and you'll get the benefit of earning Cashback! It's the same price as shopping directly with the retailers however by using our site you can earn Cashback on every purchase. And our service is totally free!

My Cashback has been awarded at a slightly lower rate than expected, why is this?

Many retailers deduct postage and packing charges and the VAT elements of a sale, before calculating how much Cashback is due.

I signed into my Account and made purchases via HelpHound CollectTM, but my sales aren't showing up in my Account - what's going on?

  • It takes up to 5 working days for a purchase to display as 'Pending'.
  • It may be that the web browser used at the time of purchase had cookies disabled. Cookies allow us to track your purchase - without them there's no way for the system to allocate Cashback to your Account. Read more about cookies.

My cookies are enabled but my purchases still aren't showing up in my Account?

Here are some best practice guidelines to help make sure you receive your Cashback:

  • Make sure you login to HelpHound CollectTM and click on the 'Shop Now' button
  • Complete your purchase online, all in one session.
  • If you decide after check out that you want to purchase something else, close the merchant site window and start the process again from HelpHound CollectTM site.
  • Don't retrieve previously-saved items in your shopping cart; start completely from scratch.
  • If you're buying insurance, make sure you start from a completely new quote; don't retrieve a saved one or use a renewal offer if you're already a policy-holder.
  • Don't click on another banner or website promoting the merchant before you complete your transaction. If you must visit another site before completing your purchase, please use a different browser to do so. Interrupting the browser session that started from HelpHound CollectTM can affect tracking.
  • Don't use a promotional discount voucher other than those displayed on HelpHound CollectTM, doing so may cause the referral to come from the code issuer rather than HelpHound CollectTM.
  • Don't use "refer a friend" programs, again this changes the referrer.
  • Telephoning the merchant to complete or modify your order will likely over-ride the HelpHound CollectTM referral (and therefore your cashback).
  • Increasingly some advert blocking software programs prevent the special tracking codes we need to track your purchases please disable your program before using HelpHound CollectTM.

I have contacted you about a missing purchase, how long can I expect to wait for my Cashback to appear?

Each retailer will need to review your transaction details you have provided us (name, Address, Order value, Order number) and determine if this is a valid sale. Most retailers review all missing transactions at once so it can take up to 60 days for a retailer to contact us about your purchase.

Why has my Cashback been cancelled?

Cashback can be cancelled for a number of reasons. The most common are:

  • You have returned the products you purchased to the retailer
  • Your payment failed or you didn't meet the requirements of the retailers credit check
  • Your new registration has not been deemed genuine
  • Your last click with this retailer didn't come from this site
  • Your transaction didn't meet the Merchants Terms and Conditions

I forgot to Login before buying something. Can I still have my Cashback?

Sorry no, we're unable to retrospectively allocate Cashback. The next time you shop, always visit the Retailer's website via HelpHound CollectTM so that cookies can track your visit and we can allocate Cashback.

Is my Cashback immediately credited to my Account?

  • When you buy something the transaction will appear in your HelpHound CollectTM Transaction History as 'Pending' within 5 working days.
  • We'll then confirm the transaction with the Retailer before updating the transaction status to 'Approved'. This takes 45 working days on average, but may take up to 90 days (and is subject to the Retailer's Terms & Conditions).
  • Once 'Approved' you will receive your Cashback at the next payment date providing you have reached your £25 threshold.

How do I know how much Cashback I'll earn?

HelpHound CollectTM will clearly outline how much Cashback you'll earn as either a cash figure (£) or as a percentage (%).

  • For example, if a Retailer is offering 5% and your transaction total is £200 you can expect £10.
  • In another example, you may not earn Cashback per pound spent, but rather a fixed amount for a single purchase, or by registering for a service with that Retailer. In this instance, you'll receive Cashback for that one action, but not for subsequent actions or purchases on that Retailer's site.
  • You can also use the calculator next to the Cashback amount to help you work out how much Cashback you will receive.

Can I see my HelpHound CollectTM transaction history?

Yes.

  • You can see all your transactions whether they are 'Pending', 'Approved' or 'Cancelled' within your Account area.

Why do I earn more Cashback with some Retailers than with others?

It's our Retailers who make a call on the level of Cashback given for shopping with them.

There's an online shop I visit frequently, but it's not part of HelpHound CollectTM. How can I get it added?

We're constantly adding and looking for new Retailers, so if you know of a great online service or shop that you'd like to see added to our growing list, please get in touch.

What happens if I cancel a purchase I've made or want a refund?

You can cancel purchases and get a refund in the usual way that you would do direct with the retailer. However, you will not earn Cashback for any cancelled or refunded sales.

I was interested in a Retailer who is no longer listed, can you tell me why?

From time to time Retailers may decide they no longer wish to participate in the HelpHound CollectTM and fund Cashback for our members. When this happens, we bid them a fond farewell and remove them from our listings.

Can I use my Cashback to purchase products directly from HelpHound CollectTM?

Your Cashback can only be paid to you. Once you have received your Cashback you can purchase from a retailer using normal payment methods (e.g. Credit/Debit cards).

Does the Cashback in my Account ever expire?

No, not as long as you're an active Member (that is, a Member who logs into their account within a year).

Are my personal details safe?

Your personal info is kept completely confidential. (You can read our Privacy Policy here).

Will I be contacted by any of your Retailers?

HelpHound CollectTM will not share any personal information about you with our Retailers. Please note though that when you click a 'Shop Now' link to a Retailer, you will leave HelpHound CollectTM completely and be subject to that Retailer's Terms & Conditions. If you leave your details with a Retailer, they may contact you.

What's a cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of data used by web servers to help identify web users. Cookies can be turned on and off by you at any time in your web browser menu. Cookies allow HelpHound CollectTM to award your Cashback for any transactions with Retailers.

How are cookies used at HelpHound CollectTM?

We use cookies to track HelpHound CollectTM transactions so that we can credit your HelpHound CollectTM Account for any purchases made with our Retailers. How it works is that a piece of code on our Retailers' websites records your unique ID number and transaction, and then passes that back to us. We then use this to match it back to your details so we can allocate Cashback to your Account.

How can I check my cookies are turned on?

In Internet Explorer, you open up the browser then:

  • go to 'Tools'
  • select 'Options'
  • under 'Privacy', move settings slider to 'Medium' or lower
  • hit 'Ok'.

In Firefox, you open up the browser then:

  • go to 'Tools'
  • select 'Options'
  • under 'Privacy', select 'Accept cookies from sites'
  • hit 'Ok'.

In Safari, you open up the browser then:

  • go to 'Edit'
  • select 'Preferences'
  • under the 'Security' tab in the 'Allow Cookies' section, select 'Only sites you navigate to'
  • hit 'Ok'.

In Konqueror 3 and 4 (for Linux):

  • select 'Configure Konqueror' from the 'Settings' menu
  • in the new Configure Konqueror menu, find and select 'Cookies' from the left side menu (you might need to scroll down the list a bit),
  • to enable: - Select 'Automatically accept session cookies'

Can I cancel my HelpHound CollectTM Membership?

We'd be sad to see you go, but of course you can cancel your membership. Just contact us please provide your full name and email you registered with along with your ID (which can be found at the top of your 'My Account' page. Once we have this information we will remove your records from the system and any Cashback you have earned will be forfeited.

What do I do if I've forgotten my password?

Click the 'Forgot Password' link next to where you login. Enter your email address you used when you joined, and provide your date of birth. Once all details are correct, you will be sent a new password.

What do I do if I forget my email address that I used to join with?

How do I update my personal details?

Login to your HelpHound CollectTM Account and click on 'My Account'.

Payment

When will I receive my Cashback?

Once a month your Cashback will be paid to you by cheque to the address we will ask you for, providing you have reached the minimum Cashback level of £25. If you haven't reached the payment threshold level in a given month, your earnings remain in your account and roll into the following month.

I forgot to give you my address to send my cheque, when will I be paid next?

We compile our reports on who needs paying by the 5th of each month (or proceeding weekday if this falls on a weekend). If we don't have your address details by this date then your Cashback will roll over to the next payment date. Check the 'My Account' area to find out when this will happen.

What happens if my account balance is less than the threshold amount?

If you haven't reached the payment threshold level of £25 in a given month, your earnings remain in your account and roll into the following month.

When will I be paid? How long will it take to see the Cashback I've earned in my account?

Payments are made on all approved amounts in your earnings. Only then will they be payable to you. Payments are made on the 15th of each month and can take a few days to reach you by post but please allow 10 days before contacting us if you haven't received your Cashback.

Why do I need to earn £25 Cashback to get paid?

To ensure we can offer you the best Cashback offers and great range of retailers we keep our administration and finance running costs down by only transferring your Cashback on a monthly basis if your Cashback balance is £25 or more.

How can you offer free Cashback?

We offer free Cashback by giving you back a percentage (up to 75% in some cases) of the commission fee that we receive from the retailers for referring your sale. A lot of other shopping sites are doing the same but keeping the referral fee all for themselves. We figure everyone loves earning money so why not give you money back for using our site.

How many retailers do you have on your site?

We have hundreds of retailers currently on our site covering a vast range of shopping categories and are always adding more!
