Great for a relaxed post-skiing dinner. Much more like a local rural restaurant then a ski-resort restaurant. Menu is SW French/Perigordine - cassoulet etc.

This is the only restaurant in the village of Essert Romand, about 4km from Morzine in the Portes du Soleil skiing region. Yvon and his wife took over La Petite... a couple of years ago and after an uncertain first year, in my opinion, have got the restaurant back to the good food place it was when we first started to go there. If you are based in ER then you have to go at least once and if you are based elsewhere, it's a good choice for somewhere different to go. I always enjoy the steak with salad, especially for the dressing they use, but I'm told the cheese fondue (I don't like melted cheese personally) is a rave. Good value and popular with locals as well as visitors. It is a particularly popular weekday lunch stop for the local workers.
