I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the chocolate is in this shop. It is an open space which means you don't have to push your way past other people. The staff are very helpful and often have tasting sessions. There is a huge variety of choclate available from dark, milk, white to fruit and liquor, as well as drinking chocolate. They also have items that are suitable for gifts and some for a quick personal indulgence.
Students also get a 5% discount.

I find the goodies inside rather compelling, but as with most of this fancier chocs, nothing beats sitting with a bar of cadburys with buiscuit and commiting sins! I am a huge chocoholic and usually find that the super rich stuff means you cant stuff yourself silly with it - due to its price and sickly richness, so it is good for dieting! You do get pleantly of free tastings however which do tempt you into buying for presants rather than yourself. More of a gift store than a buy for yourself.

I do like this store but have never purchased an item from it, why? I really don't know... the store itself seems lovely and enticing, the staff seem friendly enough and the products themselves seem delectable even though they are pricey. So why haven't I bought from Hotel Chocolat? Maybe it's because my craving for chocolate is always satisfied by the samples they thrust at you upon entering the store. This is a great sales tactic but for me, who I'll admit isn't a massive fan of chocolate (shock, horror) it doesn't work, because I go in determined and leave still munching a free sample of chili dark chocolate, which I'll add needs to be more spicy. So good store, nice staff, nice chocolate (I also like the dark orange chocolate) but it has of yet failed to lure me in deep enough to make me part with my cash. When it does, I'll keep you posted!
