As you drive towards Birmingham via Digbeth you see a large building with silver circles all over it, this is Selfridges. It is a wonderful addition to Birmingham, I remember walking past here years ago and it was just markets and stalls. Now to see a massive shopping mall in its place has modernised Birmingham. There are so many shops in the Bull Ring from Selfridges to Debenhams at either end to clothes, music, games, gadget, shoes, electrical, coffee, books, cards, toys, perfume, food....the list goes on. Getting closer to Christmas now I tend to avoid going at weekends as there are queues to get onto the escalators it gets so busy! Great place to spend a day

I visited the Bull Ring on Monday 27th October for about 3 hours and really enjoyed the experience.

To review such a huge place I must start with the slightly dull but hopefully helpful points: the mall was very well signposted, essential due to its sheer size, kept very clean, I must have seen three cleaning staff in a three hour time window, that's impressive, it was well staffed with security and had information points, cash points and toilets on every floor. With Selfridges at one end and Debenhams at the other there are a vast variety of shops in between and spread over its three floors. The architecture is lovely with some very eye catching design features, namely the Selfridges escalators and its bulbous metallic exterior corner facing St Martins Cathedral. The mall's lower level runs from one end to the other below ground and the architects have cleverly split the ground and first floor so that the view of St Martins is not obstructed creating a rather attractive avenue and viewing platform effortlessly merging new with old in a successful and eye catching way.

I won't go into the vast array of shops available as their website does that very well.

I had a much-needed refreshment stop in Selfridges' food hall in the Pretzel cafe - very nice, as well as a much needed take out coffee and muffin (chocolate and orange - you must try one!) from Costa Coffee on the ground floor.

We parked in the underground carpark and were pleasantly surprised with the tariff. The Mall is located right next to New Street and Moor street station.

Bullring

sReview_RatingImg rating on 07/10/2008 by sonz (43 reviews)

Bullring is a great building in the centre of Birmingham, the best thing about it is that all the shops are inside it which is very good as everyone knows that British weather can be harsh at times. There is quite a few indoor parking plazas around which are a great help. However the central parking is always packed especially in peak times but the Edgbaston parking is highly recommended as itts not so far. There are a lot of places that you can eat from and there are also activities that take place every other week. There has been bungee jumping which the kids loved. Apart from that its great as before the bull ring was very dull and we use to travel to Marry hill to do our shopping but since the bullring its become very convenient for the family.

I love the Bullring, it has every shop you can think of and plenty of cafes to sit in. It looks great from the outside, very shiny!!! The people of Birmingham aren't that friendly so you get a few ignorant sales assistants. We didn't park at the Bullring so can't comment on the parking but it lokks easy enough. When you go here you must go to Selfriges because its fantastic, like a whole new shopping experience. Very highly recommended.

Having lived near birmingham for a long time i visited birmingham quite alot for shopping trips. The old bull ring was awful and everyone was so excited when the new bull ring was finally up and ready to visit. First impressions was it looked brilliant from the outside, especially the outside of selfridges which is covered with alot of huge silver discs and gives it a space agae feel. Fab. Inside is even better you can find aot of different sort of shops, rangeing from hogh street shops to the more upmarket shops. It is very large so if you was planning a visit you would def need to spend the whole day there. There are alot of places to eat in the bull ring, from fast food to chinese, indian etc. Def worth a visit if your around.

i dont think it is very good in here, there isnt that many shops to choose from not like the trafford or metro center. i do find people iggnorant and they push in to you. also with my pram gettin up and down escalators is a pain, sureley there should b a lift for mothers with prams or wheelchairs.

There are many different shops within the bullring which is great them all bein under one roft and there are also plenty of places to eat, but i do feel that it could do with more unusual shops that others cities dont have just to have a wider appeal.
