Prezzo's is in a great location in Woodbridge and gets lots of business, which in my opinion means that it's stopped having to try very hard. It's a massive restaurant - not just downstairs, but it's got loads of tables upstairs too. It's part of a chain. What was wrong with the meal? My partner's fish cakes looked totally unappetising - sort of brown - possibly dipped in rye flour, but more likely to have been dunked in too hot fat. Judging from the acrid smell that emanated twice during our meal from the (visible and open) kitchen, the chefs need a bit more training. In this day and age, why oh why do restaurants insist on serving awful french dressing, that has clearly come out of a mass-produced bottle? It was bitter and tasted unpleasant and was one way to ruin some perfectly adequate salad leaves. The pizza was OK - nothing special. All in all, the food gave me the impression that I could have produced exactly the same meal if I'd opened all the right packets. Prezzo's has no right to call itself a restaurant - it's just a place that serves food, with little imagination. My other complaint about the place (apart from very ordinary, mass purchased food) was that the phone kept ringing, and was left ringing, throughout our meal. That was really irritating and did nothing for the ambience of the place. The waitress was pleasant, but could have been more attentive.
