If you want an original gift - buy one of these. They are wooden ducks - various sizes available - small (baby), medium (teenage), large (adult). To be specific - they are made out of bamboo, which is a very renewable resource. There are various statistics on their website about how fast it grows. I love this company - the ducks are LOVELY. I keep buying them as gifts, but I really want one for myself. My favourites are the wooden ones, but they do others with an 'antique' look, green wash, or white painted. You can choose whether you order a male or female duck (meaning it comes with a male or female name!), or if you pay a little extra, you can designate the name you want on the name tag. One Christmas, I bought all the family one. More recently I purchased a couple for some special friends. Strictly for indoor use - they look really good on windowsills, by the fireplace, in the hall, on a carpet, on a wooden floor ..... Check out their website and see what you think!
