There are eleven Thierry 21 shoe shops in Paris, but the one I always go to is right by the Porte d'Auteuil in the 16th arrondissement, just because I happen to stay with friends nearby. Paris is full of shoe shops selling very stylish, good quality shoes at bargain prices and every time I go there I vow to remember not to buy any shoes in England - where, as a rule shoes tend to be either overpriced or cheap and not very nice (and yes, of course there are exceptions). Thierry 21 sells quite a large range of high fashion shoes of different heel heights, finishes, colours, but also some 'loafer' type casual shoes, including imitation Tods, and trendy canvas plimsolls. Average prices are between 40 and 50 Euros for shoes, and boots (which are really nice) are between 60 and 100 Euros. Don't expect friendly service from this particular store .... a true Parisian shopkeeper, the woman was really grumpy and huffed and puffed as I tried on several pairs and couldn't decide which to buy. She then shrugged her shoulders in disgust as I said I would go and think about it, saying "that's the last pair, so you're taking a risk .....". However, when I went back in and actually bought a pair, she couldn't have been nicer, treating me like an old friend and saying she remembered me as I'd been going there for years! Nice to see that some stereotypes are true!
