Our use of Budget on our trip to the Isle of Bute went very well. Cheryl was fast and efficient at the airport when we picked our car up and Willie was there to meet us (again, like last year - see earlier review) when we returned to Glasgow airport. He again whisked us off to departures in no time flat, to save us a (longish) walk, with a cheery smile. He nearly ran over our luggage and my foot when he drove off, but hey, I was in the mood for a positive review!

I have just booked online another 5-day car hire with these people out of Glasgow airport. The online booking was very quick and easy. They were the cheapest (admittedly only of two I tried) but at 21.40 per day for the small car, with air con (be cynical if you like - May can be hot on the Isle of Bute!), and with my previous good experience of them (at least with the drop-off) I thought it worth booking. I'll report back with how things went.

last month I needed to hire a car from Glasgow airport. The picking up was a mediocre experience; the handing back a very pleasant one.I checked in at the desk, was given the keys and went to car park to pick up the car. But Brian had given us a smaller car than I had ordered on line. I phoned from the carpark. He said that was all they had but a car the size I wanted had just been brought back from the cleaners so "come back into arrivals and I'll give you the keys". I wasn't very pleased, because presumably Budget know where all their cars are and I think I could have been given the choice to wait what could have only been 10 minutes for the correct car. I hadn't been told it was the wrong one.When I got back to the carpark I examined the new one and discovered numerous marks and scratches which were not noted on the paperwork. So I had to note these for myself and phone Brian with the details. Brian was courteous and helpful enough, though not willing to accept any bame and it was all a bit of a pain, I can tell you. Luckily we were not in a hurry.In contrast, we had exceptionally good and helpful service from Willie when we returned the car; he even drove us in the car to departures - not really very far but it was a pleasant experience tohave such good service. I completed a comments form to that effect which did say I would use Budget again.For Budget's reference, our Rental Agreement no was GLA27547RAO
