I've been going to On the Waterfront for years - better value, bigger pizzas than Pizza Express in a more relaxed (and child friendly) environment, with plenty of seating outside for those rare sunny days. Today I ordered pizza and drinks for myself and my sixteen year-old daughter and her friend. So far so good. Then - 'How old are these children?' 'Why?' 'Because you've ordered a pint of bitter shandy, a half of cider and a coke.' 'So?' 'We don't serve alcohol to underage drinkers.'

Now I'm the first to disapprove of binge drinking, but a half pint of cider for a sixteen-year-old on a warm sunny Sunday? I felt sorry for the young barman, but not so sorry for the manager who refused to explain why their 'company policy' went so much further than the law of the land. I asked (politely - honest!) what would happen if she had some of mine. The response, from another member of staff some way along the bar was 'I'd ask you to leave.'

Why is it that so many people in service industries these days seem to take a delight in treating customers like some lower form of life? Why couldn't they just say 'We completely understand, it's not our fault, I'll pass your comment on to the owners'?

A waterside pizza restaurant, very relaxed, lovely spot, delicious pizzas, the most yummy salads (I had blue cheese and walnut, so good). Perfect at lunchtime.

This is the best restaurant in Exeter! The pizzas are great, the burgers are great, the desert is great!Look out for infamous waiter Crazy Andy. who will do just about anything to make sure your meal is as pleasant as possible, from his usual one man comedian act, to putting birthday candles on your pizza, to karaoke. A fantastic restaurant and a great night out.

Really nice pizzas sold here! I can't remember how much I paid but I do remember it was big and lush! Can be a bit too annoying when crowded, which seems to be at random times, not quite sure why that is - I haven't noticed any set pattern anyway.Very nice to sit outside on the pub tables in the summer on a cool non-breezy night.

Situated on the picturesque exeter quay. This is a great pub, which sells the best pizzas in town. They are huge and good value, but be aware they are popular so you might find yourself with a bit of a wait.

A lovely spot, overlooking the Quay with tables outside-perfect for the summer. The food is cheap and from what i have had is actually very very good. It is pub food essentially but the bacon and goats cheese salad is very good. Drinks are also quite cheap and the staff are very friendly. Inside is quite spacious and so if it does start raining as our English summers often tend to there is room.

I have been here on a number of occasions and am impressed with this restaurant. I have been once through an organised event and the service was quick and effiicent and we were looked after well. The prices are reasonable, around £12.50 for a 17 inch pizza, which is enough to share. The only problem I found was during the summer it can get quite busy and the serive was a little disappointing and our orders had been lost.Overall I would definelty recommend this restaurant to others, particularly as you can sit on overlooking the quay outside as you eat.

I've been taking my children here since they were old enough to eat by themselves - huge Pizza's - they can share - great location on the Quay - very child friendly, hardly ever have to wait and tables outside. Combine it with a bicycling trip down the canal - bikes can be hired next door.
