For some reason I've never quite made it to Wagamama before, unlike the rest of my family who seem to have nearly taken up residence. No reason - I've nothing against noodles, chilli, food from the far east - just never been in the right place at the right time.

Anyway, last night I broke my duck (no pun...). Post cinema four of us went. First impressions - clean, light, straightforward. Friendly welcome, shown straight to a table, menus and tap-water (+++) arrived in no time. Beer and cokes soon after. I ordered chilli beef ramen and duck gyoza. The others had a variety of chicken dishes. Our waitress was a delight (Japanese?) and new, so I nearly didn't say anything when she asked me if we'd enjoyed our meal. Perhaps it was her obvious sincerity which mad me mention that the beef had been pretty tough. She apologised and went back to the kitchen.

Two Minutes later Sam (manager? franchisee?) appears: "I hear your beef was tough. Have another dish or I'll take it off your bill.' Mildly stunned 'Oh - thank you, I'm full.' 'Then we'll take it off your bill, and I'll check with our suppliers about the beef.'

Flawless - everyone else was delighted with their food, and as impressed as I was with Wagamama's attitude to customer satisfaction. I've had less professional treatment in Michelin starred establishments (MUCH worse, now I come to think of it).

I'll be back. We'll all be back. Well done new waitress. Well done Sam.

I can't stay away from the place! Whenever in Exeter it is always on the list of where to go for lunch or supper. I love the food there, there is such a wide range of different types! There are so many things to choose that I normally take quite a long time to order! The staff are really helpful and no waiting for long periods of time for your food to arrive! Is just what Exeter needed, a change from Pizza and Pasta restaurants. I thoroughly recommend it to you if you have not been there.

really lovely food, and proof that fast food doesn't have to be bad food. Although quite busy, once you are seated you are served instantly- quite pricey, but well worth it!

i went to wagamamas for the first time at the weekend and it was great! unlike chinese food i really felt that everything i was eating was healthy, whilst also tasting great! the price is fairly reasonable, and the atmosphere is bustling and busy but friendly and welcoming. i only ordered noodle soup, but it was fantastically filling! this is a great place to try if you are quite adventurous with food. if you are a picky eater then i wouldn't advise it. i absolutely loved it though, and i need to go back so that i can try the rest of the menu!!!

This is a great place to go if you want good food that is a little different for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is nice and staff are very friendly and helpful. Although it can get busy, with long queues you never have to wait long for your food to be cooked. Also, you can usually get good discount deals and vouchers from a variety of sources. The Uni of Exeter gave away buy one get one free offers for almost two months last year, me and my friends ended up going every week and if you don't want to eat in you can get food to takeaway.

When i heard about a Wagamama's opening in the Exeter Princess Hay development i was so excited and it definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant is not overly huge but cosy and the benches make it a really convivial and fun place to be. Expect queues at the weekend- even outside of the door! The food is fantastic - if you are a fan of Asian food you will love this place. The restaurant has a modern and clean decor which is really great to be in.

I would love Wagamamas more if it did sushi, however most of the dishes are noddle based. The seating is great for groups, on massive long benches - perhaps not so intimate for a date or something but the that's how it is!The prices are fairly reasonable and the staff are friendly.

I've been to a couple of Wagamama's restaurants and again wasn't disappointed! The food is always speedy and lush but their speciality is fried and spicey food so if you're not in to that it may prove difficult! This particular restaurant we had a bit of a bad piece of chicken but the staff were very apologetic and didn't hesitate to refund us. Great environment too, sharing benches with others forces people to be social.

my first experience of wagamama in exeter was great! the food is gorgeous as are the smoothies, i really suggest you try one! prices are quite reasonable too. the staff are really friendly and polite! the set out is nice as gives a really good atmosphere. i also like the way you can see the chefs cooking your meal. However, I am not too keen on the idea of the long tables. overall, definately worth a visit!
