It's nearly a year since I last posted my opinion of Vue. Since then they have managed to turn me RIGHT OFF. We put up with the exorbitant prices for food and drink, but the mayhem to get in on any but the quietest nights has finished us. On two occasions we had to fight our way through a horde trying, mostly in vain, to make the automatic ticket machines work and then persuade a member of staff that we had actually paid before getting a seat.
The cinema is meant to a relaxed fun night out - not a fight and a rip-off. There are too many options in Exeter who have got their act together for me to ever want to risk the Vue experience again. Sorry guys, two strikes and its Odeon or Picture House for us.

I have been going to the Vue Cinema quite regulary as I think that it is much better than the Picture House and the Odeon. The viewing is made more comfortablw with great comfortable seats and a suitable amount of leg room. There is a wide range of films to see and they always show the latest films. The only one criticism is that if you want Popcorn, a drink or some sweets which I normally do, then you have to be prepared to spend a lot of money.
What do we expect of a cinema? Most would say (and rightly so) that we expect it to provide entertainment in a comfortable environment at a reasonable price. A very general summary, however the Vue Cinema in Exeter failed to satisfy.Part of the Cinema 'experience' is food and, according to the expectations outlined, for a reasonable price. My friend and I due to the enormous queue for popcorn decided to buy some sweets from the 'Pic n' Mix'. This is where the cinema failed to satisfy. For two medium sized boxes of sweets we paid approximately £12! Any business if it is to succeed must please its customers and therefore must be reasonable in its pricing, the Vue Cinema in Exeter charged this outrageous price for a basic amenity when going to the cinema! As for the comfortable environment no one was sitting in their allocated seats leaving little room and there were no cinema staff to sort this problem out. Over all a disappointing display of inefficiency and ridiculous pricing from the cinema, I would recommend avoiding it.

This cinema is quite good. It is in a central location, and shows better films than the odeon does. It is quite expensive, but a student ticket isn't too bad. The seats are comfy and there are quite a few screens.

My son booked tickets to go to Definitely Maybe last night with a friend and I went too (approx £18) and all was going well until the boys decided that they had to have some popcorn and drinks. However, there was a huge queue (one person serving) so rather than wait I suggested that they helped themselves to some Pick n' Mix sweets which they did. When we went to pay (at the ice-cream stand which had less of a queue) we were told we should have weighed them so we went back to do so. Imagine my surprise when one half filled box came to £6.00 and the other just under. I thought we must have made some mistake with the machine but after discussion and help from an assistant we discovered that this was the right amount. By this time the film was about to start so I lashed out (against my better judgement) and made a mental note not to be caught out by that again. We made our way to the film which was badly signed and just about to start, to find people sitting in our pre-booked seats and no sign of any assistant to help. We asked them to move which they did after some time and disruption to the line of seated people and after the boys had decided to sit on the floor at the front - there didn't seem to be anywhere else left. Sitting next to my son was an elderly lady who objected to the amount of to-ing and fro-ing (which must have been irritating) but then proceeded to fall asleep for the duration of the film. The film actually turned out to be rather good but what a palava - Vue need to have more people serving downstairs, improve their signage to films, have some usherettes, and not rip people off buying sweets. Not impressed

I like vue. It is better than the odeon. way better. You dont get chavs laughing and spilling coke down your neck and it has a really wide range of films on. Each separate screen only has a limited amount of seats, but if you sit at the back you get a good view, and the seats are really comfy, not the flip down type. THey have a whole counter dedicated to ben and jerrys which makes me happy, and the food is wayyyyy cheaper than picture house/ odeon. only one grumble, nobody was there to check that people were sitting were they were meant to, whats the point in having allocated seats?!!?

The Vue is the latest cinema to open in Exeter. The prices are good, and there is plenty of choice of snacks and drinks to buy, although a little expensive. The Ben and Jerry's icecream counter provides all your favourite flavours to enjoy whilst watching a film.

A good cinema. Parking can be a problem in the evening as the car park beneath it shuts before most films finish! Online booking is quick and easy. There are plenty of counters to get tickets and sweets, which makjes it efficient. Prices are not too bad, and comfort is pretty good

Much more comfortable than the Odeon with a good range of films to see. I like the fact that you can go in and buy your tickets from the machines any time, online booking is also good. Late night adult only showings look like a good idea although I have not yet been to one. Slightly disconcerting lack of staff - especially in the screens themselves.

First visit to this cinema this weekend, it was ok. Bought the tickets from the machine, very easy, small screen but seats were very comfortable, and sound system was good, nice temperature in the theatre even though it was very hot outside! A bit on the expensive side compare to others but nice for a change.
