As Exeter's only museum it is a great place to educate people of all ages about the history of the world. There are interesting exhibitions and an extensive range of artifacts. It is also free, so a great way to get some culture experience at no expense.

A little gem. Why oh why isn't it open on Sundays - get a grip Exeter City Council! Great 'local history' gallery covers Exeter from the Romans 'til present day - great diorama of the City in Tudor times. Very child-friendly - natural history is good - a 'wet day venue'.

I always enjoy visiting this musuem, the staff are polite and knowledgeable. The exhibits range from cavemen to roman times, there is also modern art section & also a strange 'stuffed' animal section- including a rhino, tiger & birds. Upstairs they have a fossil collection and also tribal exhibits of clothing and historical weaponry. The cafe serves great seasonal food at reasonal prices - they do fab patries and tea. It's free entry although a small donation is expected - though this isn't pushed for.
