This branch of Iceland can be found just off the main high street of Exeter. The store is quite big and is well laid out.
They never have enough staff working and you always have to queue for ages just to buy one or two things. Other than this the staff seem helpful and are keen to please.
The products are very good value and they often have promotions on.

The first time i ventured into iceland there were chicken fillets on the floor and open packets of ham on the shelves. The food is of a very poor quality and frankly not amazingly cheap. The staff are dismal, undertrained and as a result unhelpful. If you want cheap food go for sainsburys or tesco's "own brand" or "value" stuff. You have to wait for ages at the checkout and frankly its a terrible shopping experience.

You know your in a dodgy area when a supermarket requires a doorman who wouldn't look out of place in Soho.Cheap food? Well not really, when you work out the cost of certain items, you often find that you havn't really saved much money. My mum doesn't go to Iceland.

I find the Exeter store to be slightly 'grubby' and the staff are very unhelpful. There can be lots of offer on at any one time, however, they seem to be really unhealthy ready meals, whereas the fresh food is quite over-priced.
Iceland is advertised as a supermarket that has a wide range of quick and easy foods for families at affordable prices but I actually found that they were much more expensive than their competitors such as Tesco or Sainsburys, many of the ready meals are on sale for a pound, which seems cheap until you compare its equivalent in other supermarkets. For instance, Tesco and Sainsburys both offer an own-brand range which is basically an economy range and prices start from as little as eight pence for a yoghurt or tin of beans. Iceland do not offer an economy range making it a more expensive option. The staff rarely provide adequate service either, most of not fully till trained and as a result their is always a large queue whilst the cashier waits for their supervisor to finally appear to put through a refund or sort out a customer complaint. As a result I think that overall Iceland is a bad choice for your everday shopping and an expensive option also.
