The bar downstairs has various music on different nights, including a jazz evening. It is a popular place for students to socialise and offers a modern spacious environment to meet with people. The Amber Rooms offers a fantastic range of cocktails, although they can be a little expensive.

A briliiant bar/lounge serving the best cocktails I have ever tasted. Music is usually good, and now it is smoke free the atmosphere is even better. I recommend the peach bellini and black forest cocktrails

Awesome, stylish bar come club. They always seem to have some special offer night, I think the best was Thursdays which was student night so cocktails were £3. The staff really do know their cocktails and are always open to new ideas and will usually make up your own recipe if asked. However other drinks can be a bit pricey if not on offer! The staff also forced us to pay for a more expensive wine than we had asked for because they had opened it. Comfy sofas and a big screen telly, usually with some Dj playing the latest music downstairs and a club upstairs it's the perfect place for chilling or dancing. The club is a little small but the great music, from live bands or Djs make up for it!

Brilliant place to go with friends either before a ight out clubbing or after a meal to grab a few cocktails. These cocktails are the best in town however they are quite highly priced. I can recommend the peach bellini, and the black forest cocktail which includes real chocolate!

I went for a couple of cocktails here with a friend and i really liked it. The downstairs interior is really nice with loads of sofas and a really nice bar. The drinks are expensive but they dont measure the alcohol for the cocktails and i'm sure you get loads more than in any other place ive been. They have a huge drinks list and all the ones ive had have been really nice. The staff are friendly and service is really quick, the music in there creates a great atmosphere.

The Amber Rooms is relatively a relatively comfortable, "trendy" pub/club. The upstairs has a small dance floor and a couple of bars, though can get crammed due to its tiny size. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced (though some nights offer decent cocktails for £3) and the bar staff can on occasion be quite unfriendly, particularly when it gets busy.

There was a time when the Amber Rooms made a decent club (upstairs), when the soundrig could be used to it's full potential and get down big names such as Andy C, Jehst etc. BBC's 1xtra hosted a night there live on one occasion..However, due to council restrictions, the club now has savage sound limits in place on it. Local residents have complained constantly about the noise coming from the club and downstairs bar, especially in the surrounding flats. And this has basically led to the death of any decent big name nights going on at the Amber Rooms. Other local nights still go on, I can't however comment on how good they are, the music at the last Amber Rooms night I went to was "pumped" out by 2 measly monitor speakers (the speakers provided for the DJ, not the crowd)The bar downstairs is very comfy, a good place to have a social. They make wicked cocktails and the bar staff are friendly, however, the drinks are a tad on the expense side.

Amber rooms is a bar and night-club with style and class. It has comfy sofas throughout the venue downstairs, and a bar and dance floor upstairs. Drinks are not cheap, but there are half price cocktail nights, and they are really delicious. DJs sometimes play downstairs in the bar, which can sometimes be rather loud if you are looking for a quiet drink. Upstairs can be rented for nights, such as Drum and Bass or Indie bands, but the soundsystem is not great.

I once went into the Amber Rooms for a coffee mid-afternoon. I was struck dumb by the aroma of vomit as I walked in, only to be even more suprised by the total lack of (a) patrons, and (b) bar staff. There was nobody in there, I stood waiting for a good five minutes, assured myself that the place was actually open, then finally got fed up and left.
