I began work at this college a few years ago. I thought it was pretty poor to be honest and overated. In the end i ended up at Barton Peveril which was 10 times better. Peter symmonds is over rated and hard to get to. Also i found the teachers and tutors very snobby.

peter symonds college is of very high teaching standards. the atmosphere is welcoming and the studends are friendly. its a pleasureable place to study and many students come away knowing it has been 2 years well spent and has set them up for the rest of their life, or atleast untill the next step.

Symonds has a high reputation - it's one of the top sixth form colleges in the country. Facilities are very good and they have a huge field which is good for both playing sport on and lounging around on. The location is pretty good - about a 15 minute walk from the centre of winchester, and close to a cathedral which is a nice place to sit. The college gets good results, probably because teachers nag a lot and it is quite strict.

Peter Symonds is an amazing place. There are loads of subjects and activities to choose from and always stuff going on. It has a great atmosphere and people are always willing to help if you need it. Ive really enjoyed my 2 years at Symonds and would strongly recommend it.

The college seems to be ok, with enough surplys and equipment for all pupils. It listens to their views and may often act on them. Some silly choices have been made with some areas, but work continues to make it better. Students come from all over the world, and most of the people who want to go to college from the Falkland islands come here. An all round good college.

Often abbriviated to just 'symonds' this is my college. The college has an well-known excellent reputation for high results, and this is mainly down to the very high level of teaching. The teachers expect high standards of you, and most students accept this. The non-uniform student style is an added bonus to those who are fed up of wearing school uniform, as this along with many other things helps the students to prepare for higher education at university. Being such a large college this offers a number of advantages. Firstly, the facilities offered are fantastic, such as the wide range of sports equipment and playing fields. Secondly, having so many people means everyone will find friends and people they like from the sheer choice! The location is excellent - just outside the city centre, so students can easily walk into winchester in free periods. The only slight letdown is the price of food, but other than that i would highly recomment this college to anyone looking to come here.

For me the only good thing really about this college is its location. It is about a 10 minute walk from the middle of winchester which has a lovely cathedral and the grounds are a nice place to sit with friends through lunch. The college is also about a couple of minutes walk from a corner shop and a kebab shop and many cafe's. For the location this is a good college to go to, the grounds that symonds is situated on is also a bonus.

Peter symonds is one of the biggest sixth form colleges in southampton. It takes on students from overseas as well and offers boarding accommodations. The teaching can be superb depending on who you get. It's really down to you to put in the work. There's loads of opportunities to hang out with friends. Be warned, this was probably the main reason i missed so many lessons last year so try and strike a balance. All in all a pretty sound place and loads of people so you're bound to meet someone you like.
