I have long been a fan of Pizza Express, however after a stint out of the U.K it had been a while since I was reunited with my beloved dough balls. The restaurant itself is lovely, it is contemporary and practical and large enough that you don't have to hear the next table's converstaion. We went on a Thursday night and it was rather busy, however the staff were doing their best to keep everyone happy. Despite this there was still quite a wait for the food, when it arrived it was proved worth it. I ordered a Fiorentina and was presented with a lovely thin base and fresh ingredients. The portion was a good size and there was no lack of toppings, which can often be the case.
My only niggle with Pizza Express is the cost of drinks which are a bit steep, however I understand this is often the case in restaurants.
Overall a great meal at a resonable price, with good service.

I have fond memories of this pizza express because it was where I went on my first date with my boyfriend. It is set in a romantic position by the riverside in central Reading. The food is an average price for the type of place it is and the pizzas are delicious and freshly made. You even watch the bases being made before your eyes which is a refreshing change. My only criticism is that their pasta dishes are not as nice and are not worth the money they cost. But then again I should probably have ordered a pizza at pizza express and I will defiantly do that next time I go.
i dont like pizza express because it is very pricey. i prefer to go to pizza hut. pizza express would have nicer food you would think because of the price. you pay per drink and the drinks are very exspensive. you have to wait at least 15-20 mins for your food to be deliverd. wouldnt recommend for parents wishing to take children. i had difficulity getting a high chair. nearest parking is the oracle and town centre car parks.

A really great postition, the restaurant is clean and tidy and the service is excellent, even on busy days you never have to wait long for your food and the prices mean that you have no excuse.

I have not been to many Pizza Express', but the few I have been to this is by far my favourite. It is situated on the riverside amongst many other restaurants and when sat by the window it provides a very pleasant view whilst eating. The menu is great with a wide range of Italian foods including different pizzas and pasta as well as many vegetarian dishes and desserts. The presentation is lovely and the kitchens are open so you can watch the chefs as they work. Food does not take too long to make and the service is brilliant with all the waiters and waitresses working very hard and quickly with a smile. The food is always cooked to a very high standard and there is always plently of it so when you have finished eating you feel more than satisfied. I would have no complaints about this restaurant at all. The toilets are always very clean and kept to a high standard. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nice place to eat italian foods.

This is a great branch of Pizza Express, located really nicely by the waterfront. Some of the tables have great views and its nice to come to on a summers day. The menu at pizza express is lovely different handcooked pizzas, which really are delicious.
Nice riverside location, with open cooking. standard express food, has a nice range and a offers a good three course meal. drinks are a little bit pricey but food is reasonable

This is a particularly good Pizza Express with the great location of the riverside brings a lot of new and more importantly returning customers daily. The service is always quick, the waitors and waitresses are always helpful and the decor inside is light and airy. The food is simple but exactly what you expect from this classy Italian restaurant! It has excellent value; it is cheaper than some of its Italian rivals but for me will always be the best option when I feel like a pizza and those heavenly dough balls!!

I generally enjoy every pizza express and this is no exception. The pizzas have just the right texture in the base - and the toppings are a far cry from the thick heaving cheesy American style. Delicately made and a reasonable price - you can easily get a pizza for under 7 pounds. They are filling aswell. Very nice service by waiters who work hard. Great for a date although not the most personal atmosphere. Dough balls and caeser salad two of the best things.
