I love Apple - I'm a loyal Apple user for years and years. So why am I frustrated by the service at the Apple store? Am I the only person who tries and fails to buy stuff upstairs because the staff seem to be on something - not quite planet Earth, almost totally disinterested and faintly smug? Don't get me wrong - I've nothing against dreadlocks (in fact, if I'm prejudiced at all it's against shaven heads).

Why does the response I get to nearly every question seem to imply "Well they (whoever, ever, advised you on hardware/software in the last 20 years) must be half-witted." Why do all the 'Geniuses' (Genii?) at the 'Genius Bar' invariably respond with "That's a techie problem - you'll need to book an appointment, and we haven't got any free today."

PLEASE JUST ASK THEM!!! I'LL GO AWAY IF HE SAYS HE CAN'T FIX IT NOW!!!

Located in the centre of exeter, this apple store looks and is amazing. They have a range of apple products including apple macs and ipods. The prices are expensive, but the products sold here are of a good quality. The staff have much knowledge on their products and are more than helpful. They helped my friend find a new laptop for uni.

Many staff and a very professional applish feeling to the place, set on two levels, there is enough space to look around all of apples products.

these people carry a fairly large stock, with even the white iPhone being available here.

Highly recommended

Apple stores are always very minimalistic and clean. I often find them quite intimidating and can never really find what i'm looking for.

However the Exeter store is great. It is just the right size to not feel intimidating but to share the grandeur and style of other Apple stores across the country.

The staff as usual are very well informed and are not pushy to get a sale, they genuinely want you to understand all the products and make an informed choice based on your needs.

Oh Yes! At last Apple comes to Exeter. Great store, great staff (no name badges so I can't praise them individually). A completely paperless experience - your order is taken on a PDA and the invoice is emailed to you. They have subcontracted their feedback - you're invited to complete a form when you get your email receipt - and the form starts with an absolute no-no....'First, please enter your receipt number' - this, alone, will reduce response by about 80%.I bought an iPhone, and guess what? Yes, the form includes all their products except the iPhone! Very un-Apple.

The Apple Store in Exeter is now open - it's wonderful....The sleek, minimal interior is exactly as you would expect and all the lovely shiny products are on display for you to try. The new 24" imac is just the most impressive looking computer ever and they line the walls in all their glittering glory. Ipods, iphones and macbooks are all available to try and there are plenty of each. You can try all of the products and get a guided tour of the amazing new operating system by one of the helpful staff who are so enthusiastic about Apple it is infectious (even to the unenlightened). Upstairs they have the Genius Bar where you can speak with knowledgeable staff about specific issues regarding Mac, book a one to one session or get you computer fixed. There are free workshops as well as paid for sessions for all sorts of things from podcasting to music making which you can reserve online. There are a huge range of accessories for your ipod, macbook, iphone etc. as well as software and peripheral hardware. The best thing of all about the store is that you can now walk away with a shiny new macbook without having to go to PC world
