Northwhich is a lovely place although there isnt much around if you like entertainment. You can get the odd group of youths hanging around in certain areas which can become a little intimidating as they do sometimes get rowdy. There is not many job oppertunities in the area you would have to travel to one of the bigger places like crewe. The town is pretty small but has some good bus services. There is some lovely bulidings around the area.It is very hard finding property to buy in the area as they are so expensive. There is plenty of parking area around the town which are free so is great. You can go on some great bike rides in the area especially along the canal. The scenery around the area is beautiful as it is mostly countryside. There is some lovely places to go and have a nice quite family drink and also some where you can go and have a good old knees up of an evening. There is plenty of nice places to go out and enjoy a bite to eat and the prices can be reasonable although some places do charge astonishing prices. There is a retail park in the area with some of the larger stores like argos and b&q.There is some great schools in the area.Northwich is not to far from cheshire oaks which is a fabulous place to visit for all your bargains.

I live in a village about 10 miles from Northwich and this is my nearest big town. It is a very quiet and relaxed town and comes across as being very safe. I only go to Northwich for shopping and actually quite like it there. The free parking has to be a real bonus, and I hope that when Cheshire changes it''''s local authorities that places like Northwich don''''t lose the free parking. Free parking is unheard of in most towns. It has to be one of the things that draws the shoppers in. It is a medium sized town and offers a range of shops: Woolworths, Marks and Spencers, WHSmith, Argos, Dorothy Perkins, Specsavers and numerous bargain stores. There is also a Sainsbury''''s. Tescos and a Somerfield. Northwich also seems to have it''''s own "financial district" with all the High St banks, building societies and estate agents located together.

There is a small retail park outside of Northwich, where you''''ll find B&Q, Next, Peacocks, another Argos and a few other stores.

Apart from the shops I havent explored Northwich much, as we only moved up to the area a year ago. I''''m looking forward to exploring more of the canal area and going on some bike rides. Whatever anyone thinks of the town, nobody can deny that the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful.

Northwich is a relatively small town which is set in a very nice area and has good travel links with other areas. For the main part there isn''t a great deal to see in Northwich. There is a main area for shopping which has some nice shops and is a very relaxed place to go. The people in many of the shops, and just in general really, are very nice people. There has never been any trouble in town whilist i have been visiting and the streets are all very clean too. Coming from Runcorn means this is a feat of civil working for me. The area is a little expensive to buy houses in due to its small size and outlying areas. Davenham for instance is a very small but very pretty village that sits just next to Northwich and there are some beautiful buildings there. The nursing home Davenham Hall is a great example of this. Overall, i wouldn''t live there at this point of my life as it is a little quiet but in the future i would be glad to live there as it is a very nice place. Also, there are some great places not too far away that mean if you enjoy driving then you''re sure to find a nice place to stop and eat, drink and even make candles.

As a resident of Northwich I am going to be honest and say its not the best place ever to live. For people my age (20) there is not a great deal of entertainment on offer. There is a lack of nice bars to go for a drink, maybe the best being amber lounge but then that has been prone to a few fights recently. There is no cinema as the one they did have has been closed so if you want to go to the movies you have to drive to Cheshire oaks or Runcorn about 30 minute drive. There are some quite nice places just outside Northwich like Davenham which is a nice place to live but there are also not so good areas such as some parts of Weaverham, Leftwich, Greenbank, etc. These places tend too have large groupings of youths that gather, drink and generally cause trouble maybe due to the lack of things for them to do. It is not a place I would like to live once I grow up as there is not many job opportunities either. People do live hear and commute however due to the good schools it has in the area, for example St Nicholas Catholic High which attains very good grades. On the positive side it does have rail links to Manchester, Chester and Liverpool all from Northwich which is handy.
