My in laws treated me and my husband to a night in a hotel at Poole for our first wedding anniversary. It was really lovely, the hotel was overlooking Poole harbour and the view from our room was stunning. There are many different boats and yachts to see at the harbour and on a nice day you can''t beat just sitting by the harbour looking at the boats and watching the world go by. There are some lovely privately owned holiday homes in Poole, some you can rent out or others are owned by people who visit often or stay for longer periods certain times of the year. Near the harbour you will find many little touristy shops, bars and restaurants. The nightlife was fairly lively when we were there, many of the bars had music and everywhere seemed to be quite busy. Poole is very well known for its Poole pottery, when we were there lots of the shops had it on sale and there were loads of really nice pieces, I could have spend a fortune!

Poole is a large coastal town and seaport in Dorset on the south coast of England
we always visit poole parkwhich has two children''s play areas, tennis courts, a bowling green and a miniature golf course.
my daughter loves to hide the train that takes you round the park and also loves to feed the ducks. this is perfect on a hot summers evening.
There are also water sport activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and rowing take place on the large lake
A war memorial stands in the centre of the park as a monument to Poole citizens killed during the First and Second World Wars.
A £ 2 million refurbishment of the park in 2006 involved the construction of an Italian restaurant and an indoor ice rink for children
the quay is the main attraction of poole it has a boat to take you to brownsea island and there are lots of pubs and resturantes.
There are also museums to visit and shopping in poole is amazing as it still has parts of its old town.
You can now get married on the quay as they have moved the registry office there.
i have lived in poole my whole life and there is always somthing to do the town has such great history.

Poole is a lovely town near Bournemouth. I have only visited a couple of times but was impressed.

Sandbanks is my favourite place in Poole, the beach in Sandbanks is probably one of the most stunning places in the UK. The houses are beautiful and they view onto the water is breath taking. I could spend hours there.

I also like the big selection of shops that there is in Poole. You can spend hours wandering around looking at all the smaller independant shops as well as the bigger shops. Being from the North of Scotland I''m not used to so much selection.

The Quay was also very nice, with nice fish and chips shops and other small food bars right next to the water, with loads of selection and loads of attractions you would not be disappointed going there. You can also watch the kids fishing for crabs and people fishing at the Quay. A brilliant holiday destination

Poole is a lovely town located on the South Coast near to Bournemouth. It''s beach "Sandbanks" is beautiful. I spent many hours there as a child playing and swimming. There is a decent shopping centre with a nice mixture of shops available. Poole also has a lovely harbour which has some lovely views and makes a nice walk. Probably the most well known attraction in Poole is Poole Pottery where you can visit and see the pottery being made and also buy some nice items from their shop. A good day out or holiday visit.

A beautiful town with some breath taking scenery.poole harbour and seafront have some georgeous views and some very old buildings. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs to stop and get a drink and a bite to eat at whilst taking in the views. There is a ferry which will take you across to the privately owned Brownsea island which has a castle and I believe is owned by the john lewis group and you can take a boat trip which is very relaxing and interesting, there is also a museum with local finds.Poole has a shopping centre called the Dolphin centre with lots of well known shops and a high street.Sandbanks beach is miles of golden sands very safe for children and makes for a good beach holiday. One thing to find out is the time they lift the bridge going into town each day as this can cause hold ups.

When i was a young child we use to go to dorset on our holidasy in the summer every other year, we use to go to poole all the time to the same camp site and we thought it was wonderful.
We use to spend alot of time in poole town centre where there are a selection of lovely high street stores to spend your holiday money and lots of restaurants and the
beach in poole as i remember it was a lovely place. we ise to take chips down to the beach and eat them whilst feeding the seaguls the scraps!
the water was very warm and very clean compared to up north in humberside where we live.
It was a long drive for us, about 5 hours or so but it was well worth it.
my dad use to take us to different beaches in poole and we would find caves and go hunting for crabs.
a highly recommended family holiday place with lots to do to keep everyone of all ages entertained.

Poole is on the coast of bournemouth, it is near to sandowns where harry redknapp lives, this is the location of the most expensive houses on average in great britain. Poole is famous for it''s pottery, there are a couple of museums for with cheap admission fees to entre for both adults and children. Poole is a nice town with a decent high street with every shop you can imagine. There are also some nice beaches in the bay where you can settle down on a nice afternoon in the summers sun. There are other attractions like going to see poole pirates on the test bike track. There are some nice luxurious expensive cuisines on the sea front, where you can also enjoy a nice drink and meal.

I must say that I really really like Poole. Home to the most excellent ''Sand Banks'' beach, where I have spent many hours of my life digging holes and swimming in the sea, I really do love Poole. It''s got some lovely housing and a plentiful sized shopping district. I''m not fully aware of the cost of living and the price of housing, and although Poole is in the South and on the Coast, I can''t imagine it costing ''that'' much to live in. So in conclusion, I would really recommend that you do all you can to make a visit to Poole, which as a city I would give atleast 7 out of 10 for (maybe even more if I spent a little time there, getting to know the place better).

Poole is not a city in its own right but when paired with Bournemouth is considered so, it has one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK which is also evidently one of the most expensive places to live. Itts called sandbanks and if you go from Poole beach then the chain ferry takes all of 5 minutes to get there and its well worth it. However a note of caution, if you go to far up the beach you end up on one of Poolees secluded nudist beaches, during a family holiday we found out that the hard way. The Sandbanks sea is beautiful and the beach always very quiet. Poole town centre is worth a visit as well, the dolphin centre is a pretty cool shopping centre which has amazing Christmas decorations which are worth seeing. The bus and train station are both seconds walk from the town centre and easy to find. The city library is located within the shopping centre so again is pretty easy to locate. Poole seafront offer wind surfing, kite surfing and various sailing courses for the more adventurous. The nightlife in Poole isnnt too amazing but as its right next to Bournemouth you will find it easy enough to get the bus or taxi there instead.

Poole is a lovely seaside resort. Poole harbour has a really nice marina with a lot of expensive yachts docked here that are really cool. The views from Poole across to sandbanks are very impressive and worth the visit alone. Poole has some lovely shops and also a good variety of bars and restaurants. There is a ferry from Poole that runs at regular intervals across to Studland. It is pulled across on a chain and takes cars, bikes and foot passangers across the bay. The charge is roughly £3 a car including passangers. The trip takes about 10 minutes and is worth it to pay a visit to corfe castle and swanage for a day out. I would recommend Poole to anyone for a visit.
