Me and partner come to Dorset every year for a holiday, and last year whilst visiting Corfe, we saw a sign which stated Swanage Railway. We decided to pop to the station to have a look around, and then on the spur of the moment we jumped on and took the train to Swanage. We didn''t know anything about Swanage, so when we got there (the steam train is highly recommended), we were amazed to find it is a little seaside town. We had to walk quite far until we got to the town, but once there, we noticed a vast majority of shops. Some were well known eg. Boots, and then there were other little boutique shops which i absolutley love. The items they sell in these shops are so random and quirky! We found a glorious chocolate shop called ''Chococo run by The Purbeck Chocolate Company'' down a side street where they actually make the chocolate on the premises. You can even watch them making it through the window! After an hour of looking around the town, we then took a stroll along the front and then the pier . The tide was in, yet it was so lovely to watch the boats. After lunch, we went back into town to walk back to the station. Just at the lower of the high street we noticed a Heritage Centre. We didn''t have time to pop in but i am sure it is very good. Overall, this is really lovely unspoilt seaside town, and in the future, we will certainly be going back to visit. Especially that chocolate shop!

Swanage is a small coastal town in the south east of Dorset, England. It is situated at the eastern end of the Isle of Purbeck.
swanage is a bueatiful town and many thousand of people visit in the summer for a day visit or a holiday.
me and my partner take the chain ferry over from sandbanks and usually spend the day enjoying the senory or
gong into the town for fish and chips and a go on the arcades. You can alaso take the long way to swanage by driving, its a very nice drive as theres so much to look at on the way.
they have beautiful beaches and they are very are very clean. they also have a nudest beach so stay away from there if its not your scene.
The town centre has a number of outlets for major retailers, a collection of non chain local retailers, a number of cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs and a club.
The seafront has two amusement arcades (whhere you can spend hours in winning tickets to collect a prize!) and also several ice cream places
The town has a large number of hotels and guest rooms so if you enjoy your self you can always stay over for the night and enjoy anothr day in swanage!
there is something for everyone!! if you want a fun packed day with the kids or just to relax and take it easy swanage is the place to go.

On our first visit to Swanage we took the steam train from Corfe Castle which was amazing we passed a few campsites along the way and a return ticket was about 7 which i think is good value for money..once in Swanage we were greeted by a busy town centre with lots of small but welcoming shops..we stopped n had lunch which was lovely ..then we walked along further and found a wide variety of typical seaside shops ..sweet shops and second hand shops..there are some lovely tea shops to stop n unwind in ..we then found our way to the beach along the front there are some arcades and also toilet facilities which i must say were very clean..the beach is lovely small but very well kept..

Swanage is a typical little coastal town on the south coast of england. It is within easy reach of major shopping places such as bournemotuh and southampton, access by train or bus is available. Swanage in the summer has some nice attractions including walks along the coastal hill tops where you can "grab" a drink on the many cafes which are located along the hills. You can see for miles from these hills and get some brilliant views of poole and the needles. In swanage itself there are limited places to shop however many car parking spaces to get into the town itself. The arcade for youngsters is beaming with lots of entertainment. There are also many camping parks for holiday makers, these are reasonably priced.

I wasnt very impressed with my visit to Swanage, at first glance it looks like your everyday seaside town, and although many people say you cannt trust first impressions IIm afraid in this case my first impression was right. It is a very dull and overly busy place to visit. The town itself is quite tatty and looks like it needs to be revamped a bit. It seems like its stuck in the 70s and you can tell that a lot of its revenue comes from tourism, however surely that should be a reason to bring it up-to-date? I have a feeling that this is the kind of town that parents who went here as young children loved, and consequently bring their own children too possibly without the same effect. You can see the positive side of the place in that for young families it is a cheap and accessible place to go on holiday which is why its always bustling. However for teenagers and young adults it is not somewhere I would recommend unless you are interested in exploring the countryside rather than the town in which case you will need access to a car, as its quite a drive to the nearest village which is worth seeing!!

Swanage is my favourite place to go on holiday (yes even better than abroad) ive been now 5 times and i still lovely it. First simply because its so beautiful, the seaside is gorgeous and theres also loads of country side or woodland walks with fantastic views. You can see old harry rocks which are a great landmark. I also find it amazing that theres never any litter, everyone in this place is so friendly and keep the place clean. The centre is great with an arcade and small theatre, theres also lots of clothes shop with clothes you dont find in manchester and also some great craft and gift stall for presents. The beach is great and its usually pretty sunny in swanage. I just think its an amazing place to go especially with families.

Swanage is a lovely old seaside town. Its family tradition to go to Swanage across on the ferry from near Sandbanks whenever we go to Dorset to get fish and chips and sit on the harbour wall...(which i recommend to anyone). Swanage has some good restuarants and quite a few gorgeous independent shops which sell some lovely things as well as the typical high street shops as new look. There are also a few arcades along the seafront. The beach is pretty small and can get quite busy, but does have some beautiful views. This is a great place to go with the family as there is something for everyone...I would highly recommend visiting here even if it is just for a couple of hours.

Swanage is a typical seaside resort. Its popular with young families as its cheap and when I visted for a week was hot and sunny. Its got loads to do, such as the arcades on the seafront, loads of resturants and small independent shops. I particularly like the old fashioned sweets and fudge shops. Theres a tourist information centre to give you ideas for things to do. A Somerfields provides you with all you need to do a self catering holiday. A great thing to do whilst your there is to get the steam train from Swanage to Corf Castle, its very picturesque and a great day out for anyone. Its £7 for a return, and if you let the conductor know in advance it can stop at particular stations. We got dropped off at our campsite which was handy as we avoided a long walk back. There are plenty of campsites a couple of miles walk from the town centre, and there are also loads of houses you can hire in the town if there are a lot of you. Its a great town that has remained unchanged for many years, and its great for a family holiday or just for some time to chill out on the beach.
