We have been to Weymouth twice for our family holidays. Its a great place to visit as there is so much to do particularly if you have children. The town itself is very pretty and there are plenty of shops to look around, some high street chains, some independent and some tourist tack shops. The beach is lovely and has really fine sand which is great as it brushes off easily. When we came here we stay on a Haven park and also at Warmwell. both parks were excellent, but I would definately recommend Warmwell as there is lots to do for children and the lodges were excellent and very wellequiped. One low point for me was the tank museum, but my husband really enjoyed it and we ended up spending hours in there, so be warned if you have a tank mad partner!

Every year for the past 4 years, we have been coming to Weymouth for a holiday. I cannot reccomend it enough, especially if you have young children. Many of the CBeebies Programmes are filmed here, and it is obvious why. The beach is long, sandy, very big, and best of all, it is really clean. There are brilliant little amusements here which i have to say, it is usually me that spends the most on them! We visit every august and there are always activities on the beach for youngsters, as well as rides like donkey rides and the sea front train.

Weymouth town has a good variety of shops, although we have found that every year we come, the cleanliness of the streets is getting worse and worse. This still hasn''t put me off though, and you can spend a good few hours looking in the major high street stores such as Debenhams, Newlook (this is a huge branch), and Mothercare to name a few. The best place in Weymouth in my opinion is Brewers Quay. Situated just over the bridge in town, there are lots of lovely places to eat, including a fish and chip shop called ''The Water Front'' which is Marco Pierre Whites favourite. You can take a boat trip here on this side of the river, or just lunch in one of the many tearooms. There is also an old brewery here (hence the name Brewers Quay) which has been converted into 4 floors full of little craft/gift shops. We usually park just behind this when we go into Weymouth town as it is in a ideal location.

The Pavillion is also worth a visit. Me and partner one year saw Freddie Star live, it was great and there is a good atmosphere here. Other places of interests that are worth a visit in my opinion are the Sealife Centre, the carnival (held only in august) and a trip from Weymouth to Guernsey (quite expensive but Guernsey is another great place to visit).

Overall, Weymouth is a nice place to visit or if you have children then this is an ideal place to take them on holiday. We''ll be coming here for years to come.

Weymouth is on the western shore of weymouth bay on the south coast of England.
tourism has been the largest industry for decades.Weymouth''s coast and beaches, lakes, museums, aquarium, and two shopping centres are the main attractions for visitors. The visitor accommodation consists of hotels on the seafront, guest houses around the town centre,[ and caravan and camping sites just out of town, including haven. i have stayed there and it was a really good holiday.
There are over two hundred events held throughout the year in the borough, including firework festival, , beach volleyball, handball and motocross, and the annual carnival in mid-August, which attracts around 70,000 people each year.
it is a very nice sunny seaside town and has so much around it also on offer. weymouth is great for a day trip or a weeks holiday theres always something for the family to do.

This is a place I always want to visit when I''m on holiday in Bournemouth. I love the fact that as you drive in all you can do is smile the place has a feel good atmosphere. I wanted to visit the place so much as I live in North Scotland the only thing I knew about it was the RNLI on Seaside Rescue, so my boyfriend who is originally form Bournemouth took me there and I fell in love with it.

The beach is spectacular, with the long sea front and Weymouth Harbour right at the end. I love to park up the car and go for a walk right along and look at the all the boats. I absolutely love all the little tourist shops as well, with small nick nacks it''s the best place to pick up some holiday souvenirs. It''s definately a place I would recommend to people to visit if they were down in the area.

Definately a 5 star UK holiday destination, I will go back there everytime I visit Bournemouth.

I first went to Weymouth when i was 17 camping it was a really great holiday the beach was clean and picturesque we used to come down early when i was virtually empty and lie in the sun and let the beach fill up around us the town centre is a good size with lots of main stream shops along with tourist bucket and spade ones there''s plenty of places to purchased food on the go and some really nice pubs where you can get good quality pub grub
there''s also some nice gardens not far from the beach that you can look around of just sit on a bench and tuck into some fish and chips i remember there being little beach huts bet they cost loads to own now days. From what i can remember about the night life it wasn''t over manic just laid back had a few pubs and clubs it''s probably grown in that scene over the years

I could talk all day about Weymouth its truelly my ideal home land iv been going there since the age of 2 and still love it..with the calm sea and pure clean sand its ideal for children of all ages to play in the sea and have a safe swim!..there is so much to do the harbour has a bridge that lifts up at certain hours of the day to let ships with tall masts through..along the harbour side is a fresh fish shop where you can buy crab and as much fresh fish as you like!..The toen centre is packed full of shops but be aware gets very busy in peak season with holiday makers!

The quay side is fantastic inside there are small shops and a fantastic sweet shop ..
Along the quay you will find the RNLI life boat station you can go in and buy gifts and items and all proceeds go to the RNLI the boat is situated just outside the shop..

Weymouth is to host the regatta for the 2012 olympics and will be a fantastic boost for weymouth..

Weymouth is pretty straightforward to get to off the M5 motorway at junction 25..

also a visit to portland bill is a must you can climb right to the top of the lighthouse which you can see for miles round!..there is also a cream tea shop which sells mouth watering cream scones and fresh crab sandwiches.

Weymouth is such a beautiful seaside town and I absolutely love it there! I have been numerous times on family holidays in the past and have always enjoyed going back. If your looking for somewhere to go as a couple or a family with children then you are sure to enjoy yourself here without a doubt. In the summer months it certainly attracts a lot of tourists but its still a great place to be and has such a wonderful atmosphere about it. You cannt help but feel positive and happy whether you are on the lovely beachs or looking round the shops. There are many events held through the year in Weymouth, including dragon boat racing and beach volleyball too. Monkey World is also situated in Dorset and is a must visit for anyone that has seen the programme and loves monkeys! Shopping in Weymouth will also suit everyonees tastes from the usual names to more exclusive boutiques and shops selling more speciality items. I have always stayed on one of the numerous caravan sites when I have been holidaying here and I definitely think this is the way to go to have a proper seaside trip! Weymouth really is a stunning place and usually enjoys some good weather too, this is an ideal place for a holiday!

I took my first visit to Weymouth earlier this year and must say I loved it!.. its your typical seaside town, and so much more!

There are beautiful beaches all of which are lovely and clean, well cared for and monitored by life guards in places. There is also a separate section, well away from the main bit, where people can walk dogs too - a must in our family! Therees also a busy city centre too - not too far away from the beach and perfect if you need something, but don''t want to pay seaside prices ;o)

There are so many touristy things to do as well: Sea life Centre, Brewers Quay, Time Walk and more!
Every 3rd Wednesday in August the carnival is held where stalls are set up along the beach and a carnival procession marches through the town.
There are also a lot of other festivals that happen here including; Trawler Race and Kite Festivals, sand sculptures and more.

Nightlife in Weymouth is pretty good if you are up for it, with a few different nightclubs, bars and pubs in the town centre, there are also some quality restaurants/cafes.

Definitely worth a visit I love it!!

Having lived in Weymouth most of my life I can recommend it as a beautiful seaside town! There are many things to do including the Sealife Centre, the Pavillion and Brewers Quay which has a Time Walk and a Science activity centre amoung some very quaint shops. The town centre has good shopping facilaties with many high street brands being in the main streets. The beach has allocated areas for dogs at various times of the year and is huge!!! Every 3rd Wednesday in August the annual carnival is held where stalls are set up along the beach and a carnival procession marches through the town. Many other festivals occur including Trawler Race day and the Kite Festival.Nightlife in Weymouth is good, with a few varied night clubs and pubs being in the town centre, there are also some quality restuarants. Definately worth a visit!

I have only been to weymouth twice but this place sticks in my memory so much. I visit when i was in swanage in dorset, its only a drive away and it made a brilliant day out. They have an amazing beach thats really clean and on a hot day its great to go for a paddle in the sea. On the main street they usually have some cheap rides you can go on and also some great pubs and restaurants. We went into a pub that did homecooked food and it was delecious, really hot and tasty. It also has a centre with a lot of clothes shops and theres a really big arcade in the centre thats great fun so you''re never stuck for things to do.
