The scenery is magnificent ranging from rolling hills to the impressive coastline and is perfect for walkers. There are many tourist attractions and historically interesting places to visit as well as nature to be experienced in various forms! The county is nowadays split in three parts. Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Cardiganshire boasts some nice coastal towns along with the famous Aberystwyth with its great university and shops. Carmarthenshire has some great countryside still farmed today and a great shopping centre in Carmarthen as well as the seaside township of Laugharne. Pembrokeshire is famous for its coast and coastal path (the only coastal National Park in the UK) but also holds the beautiful Preseli hills that can be walked in for hours but are easy enough for most families. It also contains some magnificent wildlife from sea birds to badgers. The beautiful Skomer Island boasts a massive Puffin colony as well as hundreds of cormorants. Dyfed is a holiday destination for pretty much everyone, young and old alike.
