I must agree, Uckfield really does have a brilliant community spirit if you start getting involved in the local groups and events. The cinema (The Picture House) has about 4 screens which cover all the major films being releasd at that time. The river Uck is lovely to walk along but has been known to flood in the past so check the weather reports before you journey out! The rest of the town has a collection of some lovely restaurants, pizza express as well as a collection of other Italian restaurants. There is a community playing field next to the cinema car park which is always good if you''re in the area and fancied a game of football. There is also a good play area if you are looking to get the children out of the house. Tesco''s is at the bottom of the hill so that caters for all your eating in so food-wise you are very well covered. In case however you fancied more fast food, Mcdonalds is opposite Tesco''s so you have options. Overall a great little town to stop and have a look around or go out for a meal.

Uckfield is a brilliant little town with a lot to do! I worked there for a while so got a real feel for the community. There is a brilliant high street which has a fantastic mixture of independent and chain shops. There are many restaurants to choose from (both independent and chain). The River Uck flows near the town centre and I would strongly recommend a walk along the river to help relax! One of the best things about Uckfield is the community spirit, people get along and I never felt ''unsafe'' whilst waiting for a bus. There is a local theatre group, football team, hockey team, cricket club, badminton club and more! A fantastic time of year to be in Uckfield is July when there is a local festival/parade which really is worth a visit. Lots of schools and community projects come together along the high street. Car parking is not a problem as there is a large Tesco with plenty of free spaces to park in. If the Tesco car park is full then there are plenty of other shop car parks. There is a regular bus into Uckfield from Brighton and it takes around 50 minutes.

Well worth a visit!
