Burntisland is a popular coastal town in Fife on the east of Scotland. The town was previously quite industrial but, as with many places, it has less of an industrial presence and many residents now commute outwith the town for work. Many visitors still flock to Burntisland each year to enjoy the Blue Flag beach and the ever popular summer fairground which runs in the summer months each year. The town is quite attractive and has many shops in the high street, leisure centre and a popular golf course. The town hosts various events throughout the year including the Highland Games and Civic Week (gala days, etc). Buntisland benefits from excellent transport links - frequent buses to all local towns and villages as well as larger cities like Edinburgh and Dundee and Burntisland also sits on a major railway which travels south to Edinburgh and north as far as Aberdeen.
