Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire is a very historic little town. The rivers Avon and Severn meet here and it is prone to alot of flooding. Tewkesbury''s 12th Century Abbey is a must see when visiting the town.
I have lived here all my life and I certainly would never consider moving, I attended Tewkebury C of E primary school and then Tewkesbury Comprehensive which are both excellent schools in the area. I live in an old 3 storey town house in Tewkesbury and its so pretty.
Although it is a very small town its a lovely place to live and has a lot of character. There are some lovely places to stay and things to see. There are boat trips, museums & lots of little cafe''s and shops. The mop fair visits the town every year on the 9th-10th Oct and then there is the medieval festival which is a interesting day out. The town comprises of some lovely tudor bulidings too. At christmas time the town is lit up by by the beautiful but traditional christmas lights and the town organises a turning on of the lights evening.
The flooding in the town can be a big problem here, only last year we were totally trapped in the town by the floods and it was quite scary. The water treatment works got flooded too and we had no water for over a week and some people were without electricity for a couple of days.
I think the town could do with some more updated shops as we are very limitied here and it is a few miles to the larger town of Cheltenham. Although the bus services here and brilliant as they run every 20 mins to Cheltenham and every hour or so to Gloucester.
