Aberdeen is known as the granite city and the oil capital of europe aberdeen is located in the north east of scotland. There is a mix of people living in the city due to the oil industry, many local people but also many from europe and the us.
It is a wonderful place for shopping and has three large shopping malls which are jam packed with shops. The city has many shops from designer to everyday shops and everything you can think of in between! The people in Aberdeen are some of the friendliest people that there is and always have the time of day for every one. I am looking forward to my 2nd trip to see some of my friends in Aberdeen very soon, and it also means a great excuse for some extra shopping! The restaraunts in Aberdeen are really great there is something there to suit everyones taste and budget!
Aberdeen has really pulled it self up from what it use to be, it was once the working mans city but now you will find not only the working man wants to live in ABerdeen but the more wealthier of society as well! You will never be quite sure who you will be rubbing shoulders with! As with all large places there is trouble with crime, but Aberdeen is doing its best to keep reducing the rate, they have a large selection of things for the under 18's now. Well worth visiting, I know I will keep going back!

Known as the granite city and the oil capital of europe aberdeen is located in the north east of scotland. There is a mix of people living in the city due to the oil industry, many local people but also many from europe and the us.
the city itself is great for shopping and has three main shopping centres, the trinity centre, the st nicholas centre and the bon accord centre so there are plenty choice to cater for most needs.
being a university city (there is aberdeen uniersity and robert gordons university) there are plenty of pubs and clubs and the nightlife is pretty good. There are also plenty of restaurants located within the city centre, a lot of which are featured in the spree book.
down at the beach there is a number of activities for visitors to use, outdoor and indoor putting the beach leisure centre, a cinema and again lots of eating establishments.
the city also boasts a number of large parks eg duthie park and westburn park for those who enjoy being outside and also are not far away from royal deeside and all that has to offer

I have lived in Aberdeen for 10 years now and i really like the City. There is something for everyone, Clubs, pubs, shops, architecture. Aberdeen has a vast music scene, local bands play, they have open mic nights. The scenery if you go even 10 minutes out of the city is breathtaking. The buildings in the City are old and made of granite that is why it is known as "The granite City" it does look very miserable on a rainy day, but in the summer months when the flower baskets are out and the sun is shining it is a lovely clean City.
Aberdeen has a range of open spaces, Duthie Park winter gardens which is a gorgeous place to go, you can also get married there,( which I did), they host various events, Gay pride, Free at the Dee, Fairs for charity. Westburn park a large open space with a children''s play park, tennis courts are next door also. Hazelhead park is not far away from the City and also has a cafe and an animal farm.
There is a very wide range of shops in Aberdeen with 4 different shopping centres, and new shops opening all the time, they are currently upgrading the area around the Bon accord and George Street. The shops vary with your back pocket from, Primark, H&M, Next, Gap, Coast to Kafka. Something for everyone.
There is a very regular bus service to all parts off the City and surrounding areas, the prices are expensive though for the distance.
Aberdeen has Cadonas which is at the beach promenade, lots of rides, rollercoasters, big swings etc, great for a day out, there are lots of places to eat and drink at the beach also, burgers, pizza,Chinese. The beach is very clean and has a walk way were you can skate, cycle, run or walk.
Aberdeen has lots of tourist attractions, Marchal college, Maritime museum, St Andrews Cathedral, Provost Skene house are just a few of the City attractions. Others include Vue Cinema, Bowling at the beach, Her majesty''s theatre,a huge selection of pubs and clubs, you won''t miss them just walking around town.
Aberdeen has something for everyone, from babies to the more mature person, what ever your trip to Aberdeen you will like it.

Known as the "Granite City" Aberdeen is very grey with a vast number of buildings having been constructed from that wonderous material.
Aberdeen is the northernmost major city in the UK and is on the same latitude as Sweden. It is not surprising therefore that it''s weather does often leave something to be desired. Therefore, if you are going, be sure to take a raincoat.
Aberdeen has a great variety of retail outlets that offer even the most persistent shoppaholics something to satisfy their desires. It also benefits from a good variety of culinary outlets and has a very vibrant night life. It is not uncommon to hear and see a vast number of clubbers being ejected at about 3am when they close. Aberdeen also benefits from one of the country''s leading Universities, which is largely situated in Old Aberdeen to the North of the City. One final key feature of Aberdeen is that it is the closest city to the North Sea Oil Rigs and so it''s Heliport acts as a commuter base for all the oil rig workers, so don''t be surprised if you see many helicopters flying off into the distance.
Aberdeen is a beautiful city, especially when it snows. Worthwhile visiting when you haev a chance.

Aberdeen is one of the greyest cities in the world. The buildings are built largely of grey granite, the weather is often cloudy and grey, and somehow even the people look grey. However, aside from this, Aberdeen does have some beautiful parts, in particular Duffy Park, which can appear gorgeous when the flowers are out. Aberdeen's shops are not particularly good, it has all the usual suspects such as Topshop, Marks and Spencers and H & M, however most of the shops are a little smaller than those in larger cities. Buying men's clothes in particular is difficult. Aberdeen's bus station and train station are situated conveniently next to one another, and centrally located. They are both fairly nice stations. Aberdeen has one football team, who play at Pittodrie which is located on the beach promenade, where there is also an ice rink and a leisure centre. The largest rugby team is Aberdeen Grammar, who are one of the best non professional teams in Scotland. There are also several amateur cricket teams. Aberdeen's nightlife is dreadful. There are a few bad clubs, and plenty of pubs, but very few world famous live acts make it as far north as Aberdeen. Oil is Aberdeen's main business, and fishing is also important.
