Rookley is situated just outside of Newport, although there is not a lot to do there it is only about a ten minute bus ride from Newport. Rookley has its own country park which can be a nice day out for the family or a little holiday away as it has caravans and camp sites. There is building work taking place there at the moment and it has recently had a refurbishment and been turned into Lakeside restaurant. There is a fishing lake there and swimming pool along with a childrens play area. There is a few businesses are including a Steel company, a Scrap yard and there is a co op which is handy for amenities. Also there is a handy little post office and also a small church. House prices here are quite high as it is quite a sought after place to live as quite a few of the houses come with a plot of land which also means there is quite a bit of farming in Rookley. Being a small place there is quite a friendly local atmosphere as people seem to know each other there. Overall Rookley is a nice place to live if you enjoy the quiet country life rather then the busy life of a town.
