Close to the seaside with good transport links to the nearby coasts including Portstewart, Portrush and Castlrock. Scenic views and walks are not far from the town centre including National TRust points of interest. The town has great shoppin facilities and variety of stores. The town is clean and tidy attracting many from nearby towns including Ballymena, Limavady and Derry. there are many charches for all denominations from Catholic and Protestant. The town people are friendly and and accomodating. The town houses many pubs, hotels and restaurants which are welcoming to all sectors of society and ages from children to the elderly. A great place to visit.

Coleraine is a large town in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland near to the mouth of the River Bann. With Championship golf courses nearby it is a great base for the better than average golfer. It has an attractive town centre, a marina and the prestigious Riverside theatre. Coleraine, during the day is a busy market town but at night the town is very quiet, with much of the night life in the area located in the nearby seaside towns of Portrush and Portstewart. The University of Ulster provides a large student population. The town square is called ''''The Diamond'''' and is the location of the Town Hall. St. Patrick''s Church of Ireland is situated nearby. The University of Ulster campus, built in the 1960s but is deemed one of the better pieces of architecture from that era, if you like concrete jungles.Coleraine has a long history of settlement. The Mesolithic site at Mount Sandel, which dates from approximately 5935 BC] is the earliest evidence of human settlement on the island of Ireland.
Coleraine is the main town of the world famous Causeway Coast, which attracts over two million visitors per year. The Giant''''s Causeway is a twenty minutes away. Portrush and Portstewart, with fine sandy beaches and coastal walks are only 5 mins or so away.
Nearby Mountsandel Forest, which contains the impressive Mount Sandel fort, an ancient site which has been claimed as the oldest site of human settlement in Ireland. Here wooden houses dating from about 7000 BC were uncovered. There is another fort about 2 miles south from Mountsandel one near a small village called the Loughan. Time Team heaven.
Well-known locals include the actor James (Jimmy) Nesbitt. Coleraine was also the home of Andrew Bonar Law, Prime minister of the UK in the 1920s. My experience of Colraine is student based so maybe not the most focused. I did have some good times though and as a Uni town would recommend it... other wise there isn''''t much going on.
