kirkby isa town on the outskirts of liverpool. my grandad told me kirkby became a town back in world war one when the city was getting bombed and the people left liverpool to the safety of kirkby.
kirkby is relatively small town, you have all of your basic shops but thats about it.
kirkby has areas of parkland and green areas for kids to burn off excess energy, parts of the town are rough but parts of anywhere are rough.

Great place.Nice friendly people. The town centre is fine but not very many shops. There is some lovely little parks for the children, the millenium park is a pretty area and lots of places for the children to have a good kickabout. There is no nightlife really you do have to travel into liverpool town centre for a good night, but there is some nice friendly family pubs in the area. There is some rough areas but the majority of places are really clean and tidy. There do''s seem to be a bit of a problem with crime but its not in every area of kirkby. The train station is right in the centre of kirkby so is ideal for everyone.kirkby has just got a new leisure centre built which is fantastic. There is a lot of major banks in the town centre which is great. They are just starting to build 2 new big schools which look great and will benefit the kids of the future. There is a very large industrial etsate with factorys and warehouses so the job oppertunities in the area are good. The bus routes in and out of kirkby are great. They have a market which opens 3 days a week and has somereally fab bargains.

I have only ever had the chance to visit Kirkby on 2 occasions both times were on a business trip but between business i took time out to have a look around., The town is pretty easy going not a massive variety of shops or pubs, bars and clubs. There are not a great deal of restaurants either mainly Pub Grub or cafe food. Everywhere i had chance to visit was friendly and enjoyable nut just a shame at the lack of amenities in the areas. I did have to go to Liverpool center on the train to find anything of interest for me. Some areas do seem a little rough but the estates are good looking and i did not really see very much litter or graffiti. The main place for the children in the area i saw was a park which was very big and had plenty of room for children to go play football, have a game of hide and seek and always go play o the swings in the park.
