No matter what it is you want from travelling to a new place - liverpool has everything you could need. Different times of the year bring with it differenct occasions such as the liverpool matthew street festival/music festival. This is in august each year. There are, throughout the year different ships within the dock areas. There are the Champion League winners homecoming (Liverpool FC) which is always something not to be missed. Each week their is football taking place in one the main stadiums that liverpool has within its city.
If it shopping you want, then you are in the right place. You can shop where the rich and famous shop, or the main street in liverpool where all you high street shops are. Loads and loads of places you can eat and drink in its wide variety of food establishments.
People of liverpool are some of the best people you could meet. Yes, as with everywhere Liverpool does sometimes have a name for being rough - but only if you go looking.
Liverpool people want to have fun, enjoy themselves and welcome you into their brilliant city.

Liverpool is known to have some bad associations but it really is a great place to explore with so many hidden treasures, hence it has been awarded the Capital of Culture status this year, 2008.
There are two main sections to the center of Liverpool, one is the docks by the water and the city center itself.
The Albert Dock has a lot of popular attractions for the family and also for a night out. Firstly there is the Tate Liverpool, the only one in the North so a great place to go to see up and coming and established artists. It also hosted the Turner Prize this year. The dock also has a museum suitable for all but mainly for children, concerning the issues of slavery as one of the exhibitions.
The docks has lots of individual shops to look round too. In this area there is now the new Liverpool One shopping complex, one of the biggest in europe, a must visit, with secure parking, although it can be expensive.
The center of town can be reached by good bus and train links, the best station to get off at is Liverpool Central leading to the main high street.
The large number of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars make it an all round good day and night out.Plus, the people of Liverpool are really friendly and chatty!

Liverpool is quite a nice place, coastal, there is a building which is "art" where the front of the building starts rotating, and it is easily accessible by coaches and train, liverpool has an underground system, which i personally didnt like but my husband loved it!

Liverpool is the capital city of the county of Merseyside in the north west of England. It is located on the M57 motorway. It is easy to get from Liverpool to Manchester and Lancaster, and south to Birmingham. As a port city, it is also easy to get from Liverpool to Ireland!
Liverpool is one of my favourite towns in the north of England! It is a University town so there is a lot to do for young people. There are several universities here, including Liverpool University, John Moores University, and Liverpool Hope University.
There are, of course, two football clubs that play here- Liverpool football club and Everton football club.
Liverpool is the Capital of Culture of Europe for 2008, and it is easy to see why- bustling with history and culture, Liverpool draws people from many places. The city itself is beautiful, there is lots to do and the people are known to be friendly and welcoming to those from outside.
For the tourist, there is plenty to see and do. I think that it is worth seeing The Anglican and Metropolitan Cathedrals, the World Museum Liverpool and the Tate Liverpool.
For music fans, what could be better than to learn about The Beatles? You can do this at The Albert Dock.
Liverpool has a very beautiful coastline and this is surely worth a visit.

I visited Liverpool this last weekend to visit one of my friends at university, and after my experience I would agree that Liverpool is the European capital of culture 2008. The city is buzzing and very lively and has lots of attractions and things to do. The city has a new shopping area called Liverpool One and so this means there are a lot of new shops, as well as restaurants and a cinema. There are also lots of clubs and I visited lots of bars in concert square, which is a really nice cobbled street area within the city where lots of bars are located. I also visited the Albert docks and the Tate gallery, both of which are really good attractions and free as well. The city has lots of amazing architecture and all of the buildings are really impressive. There are so many restaurants and bars in Liverpool ranging from high street fast food to high end restaurants in the docks. There is a lot to do in this city and so you will need a lot of time to properly explore the city and what it has to offer. I will definitely visit again as I love the feel to the place and all of the residents are so so friendly.

liverpool is a great, vibrant city and there is a lot of major structural work ongoing in liverpool, this is all for the regeneration in liverpool due to us being capital of culture 2008.
liverpool is famous for many reasons but mainly thanks to the beatles who made the city famous back in the 60''s. there is the famous cavern walks which shows the history of the beatles and how they becakme famous.
as a shopping centre liverpool is booming thanks to the new "liverpool one" shopping precinct opening and there are soooo many shops in there you''ll be spoilt for choice.
and who could forget the albert dock, the major shipping dock of the olden days and also famous for when richard and judy presented "this morning" live from the dock which is now a hotel.
the night life in liverpool is great, definately a night out worth going on, some clubs are open 24 hours providing a clubbers paradise

Im from Bootle and i live in Devon but i go back to Liverpool a couple of times during the year. The city centre is full of shops which you would expect but if you go into the indoor market in St. Johns shopping centre you will find even more choice and a cheaper price than most shops. There is also the heritage market which sell clothes, phones and much more. There are also loads of industrial shops like the huge jjb sports ect dotted around the city. There is also mini shopping centres in all the mini towns for example the strand in Bootle. Liverpool also seems to have the latest fashion trends before the South of the country. Liverpool has culture in the bag full so if your only there for the day visit its two cathederals and the Liver building the Aldert docks, Aintree race course (the grand national) and of course the two football stadiums Anfield and Goodison Park. If you are a red i recommend the Anfield tour you learn alot about the club and you can see what the players see. I have heard that liverpool has a great night life, but I haven''t had a chance to experience it yet. There is loads of public transport in Liverpool and are all reasonably cheap and reliable, there is a bus to town every couple of minutes and a train station at most areas in the Liverpool suberbs. There is also a beach in Formby and the seaside town of Southport near by.
